my wife's brother has been on painkillers for almost 20 years from a motorcycle accident. as time went by he became more and more dependent on them and for the last 5 or 6 years he's been injecting god only knows what.It turned him into a thief and a liar and I honestly think there is no hope for him at all.

yeah - that's why I left my baby's dad - he was all f*cked up, Still acting crazy - abusive and it's sad and it sucks. It's really heartbreaking. But if someone's doing drugs there's nothing that anyone can say or do to stop it until they are ready. Keep your head up

My husband does. This man had a wonderful job, house, wife, kids and he lost it all to crack. I can't understand how someone is so unhappy that they turn to drugs for the high.

Well, I was married to one of them......
I don't know anyone personally nowadays, but I see a lot of people here in San Antonio that are strung out.....and I wonder what their life was like before they got that way.......

yea, and it's sad to watch them spinning down that spiral of depression, all the while losing every bit of dignity they once had.
