Actually eggs are usually not refrigerated and is certainly not necessary.
In fact I keep mine at an open shaded airy corner on the kitchen table. The eggs are not refrigerated at all and my eggs last at least 1 to 2 weeks after I bought them from the supermarket.
Just do not subject them to extreme temperature and humidity changes. Also make sure not punctured and eggs not cracked.
But eggs need to breathe.
To check, get a bowl and crack your eggs in it. If you there is odd colour or smell or bubbles, then throw it away, else it is ok.
Enjoy your eggs!!!

No it doesn't. Do you think that before we had refrigeration, people would hang around waiting for the chickens to lay eggs so they could rush the eggs into the kitchen to cook them? And the float test works.

Do Eggs Go Bad

Eggs do NOT have to be refrigerated. Think about where you get them at the supermarket, just from the shelf!

Drop the egg in a cup of water, and if it floats it is off. Air getting in to the egg is what makes bacteria grow, and being refrigerated only slows that process, it doesn't stop it.

Generally speaking, if it's in date, and has a lion mark, then it's good. But do the water test anyway.

Not necessarily. I live in Australia and eggs are not refrigerated here.

However, they can go bad if they are left out too long.

eggs do NOT require refrigeration unless they are already cooked (ie, hard or soft boiled eggs) Otherwise they will be perfectly good for a while at room temperature.

Think about it. When the mama hen wants to hatch her little egg, what does she do? she WARMS it. And it doesn't go rotten then either.

But the suggester above has a great idea with the float test, go ahead and do that if in doubt!

You can test the eggs by placing them one at a time in a bowl or glass of water. If they sink they are OK to eat, if they float, toss 'em. Refrigeration prolongs their life but if not absolutely necessary.

Toss 'em out. Eggs are notorious for salmonella ....if not refrigerated/stored correctly. I wouldn't take any chances.
