First of all, don't let anyone tell you who you have to worship. You have to figure that out for yourself. Try www.witchvox.com to get some information on just what exactly wicca and paganism is. They also have a very good list of starter books that will help you along your path. Wicca are not allowed to preach their faith, just answer questions when they are asked.

As a pagan high priestess I get this question alot. First you need to look at it just as God and Goddess. The truth is all gods and goddesses are just a piece of the truest form. In your life there might be times when you have to call on Gaia, for something and then later on you call of Isis....the truth is both are mother goddesses, just a different face because of where they came from.
There is more to wicca then just lord and lady (another name for god and goddess) If you really want to find one of each that fits you then do lots of reading, but also keep an open mind......

One of the best things to do is not worship _anyone_ until you look deep within yourself. Think long and hard about what kind of person you are when no one is around. Remember the old line "Character is what you are in the dark" then think about what kind of character is _you_. Without any pressure from anyone else, what is it that makes you tick.
Now that you know more about yourself, think about what deity/deities closely resemble that inner you. If one of the Christian denominations fit you, more power to you. Perhaps the "generic" Goddess of Wicca appeals to you. Maybe you might be closer to one of the more specific God/dess of a particular Pantheon. One of the best places to look is the unabridged Golden Bough by James Frazier, available in any good college library. You don't need to buy it. I recommend this book because it breaks down the deities by type instead of by pantheon. That makes it easy to find one that closely resembles you. Then look deeper into the particular deity by going through _The Witches' Goddess: The Feminine Principle of Divinity_ and _The Witches' God: Lord of the Dance_ by Janet Farrar and Stewart Farrar.
Above all, be yourself

Let me get this straight. You want to become a Wiccan... but you don't even know what they worship? That has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I have nothing against Wicca, which is as good of a religion as any, but if you are looking for serious spiritual guidance in your life, you don't just pick up a religion just because you feel like it, especially when you obviously don't know anything about it. Find out more about it. THEN if it appeals to you and you can honestly say you believe in it, THEN you can worship. That said, here is more information on Wicca:

The God and the Goddess in Wicca
Recently I was asked for my opinion/explanation of how Deity fits into Wicca. It’s a question that many people, especially those new to the path, struggle with. Often it can be hard to reconcile the beliefs that we were brought up with and the beliefs that we are developing. Like many areas of Wicca and Paganism, there are no clear-cut answers to this question, and there may be people who disagree with me and that’s fine. We all must develop a relationship with deity that is our own.
In Wicca, there is no “big book” to tell us what to believe or what to think. We have a few general guidelines and texts we consider to be sacred, such as The Wiccan Rede and The Charge of the Goddess, but even from those, we must make our own determinations about what we believe and what is right for us.
Please know that what I write here is not meant to criticize or downplay anyone else’s beliefs, nor is it the absolute rule of Wicca. It is simply my personal system of belief, as well the belief of many Wiccans that I know and have learned from. Also, while many other Pagans may have similar beliefs and spiritual practices, this information is based on the practice of Wicca only.
One of the strongest underlying currents in Wicca is a belief in balance. We look for balance in the turning of the Wheel of the Year and in working with the elements. We strive for it in ourselves and in our practice.
Therefore, it would follow that we would seek out balance when it comes to Deity as well. Many of us have come from a monotheistic background where there is only one God. Many Wiccan practitioners felt a spiritual imbalance in this monotheistic belief system. This feeling of imbalance has lead many to search for something else, which led them to the practice of Wicca. In Wicca, we honor the duality of the God and the Goddess. They compliment and complete each other and provide balance to the universe.
When coming from a religion that is centered in the worship of God, it is easy to want to push Him completely aside because there is often a mental connection between the worship of God and the other negative feelings that they have associated with their previous religion. Often this means rejecting the God completely, and focusing only on the Goddess. But by rejecting the God, are we just creating the same kind of imbalance we experienced without the Goddess? Unfortunately, there is no simple way to reconcile this within your self. Each person must develop a level of comfort with this duality in their own time.
To me, it seems sometimes like a pendulum swinging. At first it swings very far to one side, then very far to the other. First believing in only the God, and then only the Goddess. But with time, the pendulum finds its way to the middle ground. It is the nature of balance. I believe that we are all like the pendulum, swinging this way and that until we find our center.
I do know, that for many people the word God holds the symbolism of their struggle, and for them it may be easier to consider using the terms “Mother” and “Father”, or refer to the Moon and the Sun, rather than God & Goddess. For others, who may struggle with the duality aspects, it may help to consider the Lord & Lady as two halves of a universal whole. Like the Yin and Yang of Eastern philosophy, only together do they complete the circle.
There is so much more that can be said about the God and Goddess and their place in Wicca, and most cannot be explained in a short article like this., but until then stop into the forums and ask questions.
Much of what we learn must be experienced. If you are struggling with this, consider meditating on these questions in any way is most comfortable for you. Because in the end, who better to help you through a time of confusion than the Deity?
Take your time , there is no rush, we are constantly learning!
A good site is Bella Online....or blackfire wiccan study or witchvox...Good luck on your journey!
Blessed Be!

What Wicca has is the customarily in a single of a few categories: Monotheism (there is one God, from who all Gods and Goddess emanate), Duotheism (All Gods are incredibly one God and all Goddesses are incredibly one Goddess) and Polytheism. (confusing Polytheism: each and each God and Goddess exists completely on their very own, without relation to a minimum of one yet another... and mushy Polytheism: each and each God and Goddess suits into an Archetype) All of those opportunities are Wiccan. So no, it is not straightforward... even though it enables persons to view the international how they want in the Wiccan framework. (The 8 Sabbats, 13 Esbats, etc)

If you are just beginning your journey on this spiritual path I encourage you to focus on the God and Goddess. As someone else already pointed out you could also refer to them as Father and Mother or Lord and Lady.
Picking a specific diety will come to you as you progress down your path and what feels right for you as an individual will come on its own. Don't force something that doesn't feel right - you will waste too much precious energy making it fit instead of embracing The Divine.

you can worship any diety you want. or if you started out from christianity you can worship God or Jesus christ if you want . You have a goddess within you, you have power you just need to learn how to use it. Give a name to your inner goddess. Noone is going to laugh at you for what you believe in(well , maybe except christians) If they do flick em off.
I'm happy for you that you just started out, if you are a free thinker you should have no problem at all

Ok, you're just starting out so i'm going to be polite as I possibly can.
Rule One: Research the religion
Rule Two: believe in the beliefs.
Rule Three: Don't be a wanna be. Learn information before spouting off. Make sure its what you want and you can live with yourself.

there are many options out ther for you, I would recommend checking out the websites below and do some searching, also you should be able to find a teacher in your area who does Wicca classes. also check out meetup and search for witch's or pagan meetups in your area. Finding a like minded group will help you on your path.
There are also allot of very good books to get started on, i find most of mine at barns and noble, boarders and half priced books.
Blessed Be
