have attacked a campus, home or any public place where the facility is protected with weapons of deadly force?

I am not saying that we should fortify all campuses, it's a question. I doubt an intruder would come into a home he or she knew was protected with a weapon. All these types of questions have been beaten to death every time a tragedy happens. Everyone, or most everyone has to blame someone or something. Who or what do you blame? Do you just have blame or answers? Are you a Monday morning quarterback like most people? Do we start with the changing of the mind set or do we start attacking inanimate objects like weapons of deadly force? Who is to blame for the mind set of our youth? Parents? Violence in T.V.? Drug culture? Music? Hollywood? What negitive influences do you have in your home that promote the negitive side of humanity? Are you,the parent, the most influential person or hero in your childs life or are you allowing the dark side of humanity to control the thinking and growth of your children? These are just questions so be true to yourself. It starts at home.

What do you mean? I know here at University of Arkansas, the sentiment in your idea was concealed weapons. I AM NOT POLITICAL, but there is a HUGE risk in arming EVERYONE. Let's say 10% of the people in society are incompetent for one reason or another in this issue. However, then take and say that you have a 1,000 people on a 10,000 person campus packing heat now. Let's arm everyone. The number of incompetent/unsafe gun carriers goes from 100 to 190. THAT IS PRETTY DAMN SCARY

People with this kind of agenda almost always find a way to accomplish their goal.

How do you propose to protect a place with weapons or deadly force? Police Officers? Faculty, other students?

Even if you had police officers at every entrance to every building on campus, guns can be hidden rather easily. It seems one would need airport type security to increase safety. (sounds costly to me)

Did you know that most police officers killed in the line of duty are killed with their own weapon. If trained police officers can loose their weapons in a struggle, what sense does it make to put guns in the hands of academic teachers, or other students, It seems to me that would only increase the number of weapons in places most people don't want weapons at all.

I think someone would be less likely, because in a facility that's protected with weapons, he/she is less likely to kill many ppl. And here's a question.. why are the shooters almost always guys?

It is impossible to know. What we do know is that without weapons to protect the facility 32 people died.

So. you're suggesting that we should turn our entire nation into a fortification? The man was seriously mentally ill---who knows what he "would have done".

Yes. Can you stop asking stuff about that? It's very upsetting to alot of people to have to think about it.
