You don't have to turn on the on board graphics on your PC unless it's a second hand one and the previous owner has removed a graphics card. If this is the case then you need to set it up in the bios. If you are unsure then ask whoever sold it to you, Hope this helps.

turning on onboard graphics is quite easy but you need to be careful when you swap over
first you need to go into bios and then go to intergrated peripherals, and then look for onboard video, then enable it,however in some bios in p.c,s you may find you need to look for a setting called init display first, then set this to onboard graphics
now the trick here is to save and exit set up and then turn off the computer straight away, then change your v.g.a cable over to the onboard vga socket, then once its secured correctly boot up your p.c
this will now boot from the on-board graphics, however you need to make sure after this that you download the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard,as these drivers are what run your on-board graphics
many of todays on-board graphics are actually pretty good, and can even run some basic games
note:while in bios you also need to increase the video memory if needed as this may have been reduced while you used a dedicated graphics card, and you will need at least 64mb to make the onboard graphics run well
good luck

If the computer is a new one then i am quite sure the graphics is already enabled by default - if you are not sure about anything pls contact a pro or technician

V. odd - usually, the default is 'enabled'

Anyway, it's done via the BIOS (RTFM - find the BIOS Settings pages)
