Breast Cancer - such an important cause and so many people suffer from it. I go on a 'race for life' every year and although I enjoy doing it, we shouldn't have to be doing it as it should be paid for by NHS.
I feel charity starts at the home, and everyonr knows at least one person who has had breast cancer or a breast cancer scare once in their lives!
But hey, everyone has their own opinion - What makes you ask?

Clic/sergent cancer care for children.

They were really good when my son had cancer.

The only specialist hospital was 80 miles away and he was in hospital for 41/2 months.

They helped us with traveling expenses.

when he was able to leave hospital we stayed at the holiday home that they run.

It was great to have a week were the kids could run riot and our other two, could mix with other brothers and sisters that had been through the same things as them (Illness is hard on everyone in the family)

I give by direct debit every month to this charity and my boy has been in remission for seven years!!

I'd contribute to any charity that helps innocent infant children escape the horrors of survival in modern society.

ronald mcdonald house charities. i've seen firsthand how amazing this program is for sick children and their families. when i gave birth to my first daughter, she had to undergo surgery to correct a problem with her intestines. while she was in the hospital, i stayed in the ronald mcdonald house, which is sort of like a hotel for the families of child patients. they have bedrooms with showers, a full kitchen for parents to cook in, a living area with a tv, a library area with books and computers with internet. everyone there was unbelievably nice and courteous, the volunteers even baked cookies for the parents every day. and it was all within easy walking distance of the NICU which my daughter was in. when my daughter turned a week old, she passed away due to a surgical complication. much to my suprise, the ronald mcdonald house made a significant donation to the funeral costs, i didn't see that comming at all. they had already been so generous and helpful, i was completely blown away by this. now i make donations to them every time i get a chance to, because i know that there are so many other families that are in the same situation i was in, and i want to help make sure that they are taken care of.

The Lupus Foundation....I was diagnosed with Lupus a year ago March. And I'm having a really hard time coping with the effects of the disease itself and the side effects that come along with the drugs that are used to treat it. It also frustrates me to know that there hasn't been a whole lot of medical advancement on treatment or research done on this disease in the past 40 years....

Oprahs Angel network. I picked hers because she matches your donation for each and every dollar you give. Also, she contributes to good causes and I think she is very wise and has people dealing with that money who can be trusted. I'd feel safe giving to her charity and I could be assured that it would be used well.

The American Heart Association...

Heart disease takes the lives of over 550,000 Americans in the United States per year, one of them being my father back in 1989. I am not bias toward Americans, by all means, it's just that this is the only statistic I know.
