#1 is word of mouth. Prove your commitment to good customer service, quality product and prompt service and they will recomend you to everyone in need of said service.
Go above and beyond, do more or different things than your competitors.
#2 Free Adverstising - Low cost "hand-outs" like buttons, kids tattoos / crayons, pens. Depending on the product, sending samples or offering extreem discounts (one time offer) to local radio station chat shows. If the host is impressed they will most likely say the name of your company and your service on air. You can also target local small businesses, colleges, etc. again, depending on the service or product you offer.

There are so many ways to promote a business. The "best" way depends on your budget and how you want to market (print, online, etc.) I can speak for Internet Marketing- If you have some money to spend- Pay Per Clicks are great. If you want to Advertise for less, try traffic exchanges (I have an article on Traffic Exchanges and tons of links for free ones- on my blog- http://www.bluescitytravel.blogspot.com
In the interest of not taking up all the space on this page- visit http://bluescity.payitforward4profits.com for a free 30-Day Internet Success guide. I learned how to get started promoting my travel business using what I learned in that guide.
Best of Luck!

When I had my Landscaping Business years ago it was promoted through my customers. I had made Business Cards, Flyer's and Pens to hand out. In time I found these were a waste of time and money as everyone was referring me to others.
So, in my opinion the best promotion is satisfied customers. This may be different for other type Businesses.

Watch The Apprentice on NBC and you'll see the ways NOT to promote your business haha seriously though, I'd suggest first reading a good psychology book on persuasion. That will give you a good sense of what actually works in convincing people to buy your product. Then I'd suggest making a catchy commerical or radio spot. Or simply target the audience your business is trying to reach.

Like the majority says...use your customers to drive your PR engine.
Since recommendations play a big part in driving businesses such as yours....do you have a customer who can recommend your business? If so get on this newly launched site called http://www.servicedomino.com. Once listed(free) you get a easylink to your page on the site e.g:mybiz.servicedomino.com....its perfect for small businesses such as yours. Add this link to your card and let your customers words work to bring you more business.
As the database grows...you get traffic directed to your listing and category....as customers look for recommended businesses. Recommendations are the best form of ads arent they? If you already have a website you can include the links to the same once you have been listed thus driving hot leads to your site.
If you are on the top 5 list...the company promotes you via its ads too. All you need is to get your customers to go recommend you on that site.

hi JJ I thoroughly trust monicane. Sending out an announcement can get you great insurance. With it being an announcement your organization/adventure would be picked up by using television and radio, which of direction is the foremost promoting weapon you have. a efficient press launch web site that i'm attentive to is PRWEB. loose to open an account and steps to lead you thru your launch. yet another good source while you're based interior the US is classifiedsforfree - this shall we you place classified ads in specific states and cities interior the US As for looking suggestions approximately who you help and activities on your area, i will purely say use the google seek or yahoo, i understand that sounds very on the instant forward yet its authentic good good fortune
