Hi David,
May I offer a "politically incorrect" view?
I'm sorry, but this whole affair is so ridiculous it isn't funny. I'm sure the women on that team are fans of hip-hop music, and have heard far worse things coming from the mouths of artists whose music they actually pay to hear. So I don't buy this moaning about how hurt everyone is -- it's total rubbish.
So what, then, is this really all about?
A long time ago, a columnist named Joseph Sobran wrote about people struggling to achieve what he called, "Accredited Victim Status." And in my opinion, THAT is what this is all about.
If you can establish that you've been victimized you earn valuable political capital that can be spent on furthering a political/social/economic agenda. I look at these people screaming about Imus, and I have to ask -- "Why haven't you been on the case of these Gangsta Rappers?" Why Imus? Why now?
There is a double standard going on here that is nothing short of hypocrisy. That's why Imus was targeted. You can't claim to be victimized by people within your own community -- it only works if the proposed victimizer is from the outside. That's why the double standard -- and that's why Imus.
Thanks for letting me vent. Cheers, mate.

This morning on Good Morning America, the little banner that runs across the bottom with news, had a note that John Kerry says Imus should not have been fired for his idiot remark.
I have never really listened to Imus on the radio, I just remember seeing him on TV, could have been simucast, some mornings while I was waiting to go to work. I never really paid too much attention to his show, I thought he had something to do with little kids. Now, again not caring, since he's a talk show host, I guess he's just another Limbaugh wannabe.
I do have a little dislike for anyone who calls any group of women "Whores". Would he like it if his daughter, grandaughter were linked to a group that werecalled whores?

They are all laughing their tails off about this nonsense, no doubt.
Don Imus didn't do anything, but what the RAPPERS ARE DOING- and some groups wanted to destroy his career over it.
Here comes the two reverends showing their rears. This whole thing is a joke.
