While eating better is always the best choice, some good ways to do this might be to eat rice meals. My roommate cooks rice quite often and eats it with chicken and other meats that's aren't too expensive. Its filling and good for you. Not to mention it can be flavored. Though not what a nutritionist would tell you you can sometimes sacrifice the quality (the eating better part) for a bit more exercise. I'm not saying you ate a McD's cheeseburger so you have to run a mile. But take the stairs instead of the elevator if your not in a rush, stuff like that.

As a dancer, I'm sure your weight is always a big concern to you. 5'3 and 109 lbs for a teenager sounds completely normal to me. However, if you're concerned that you're eating too much and still feel you're hungry all the time you might need to consult a nutritionist. Trust me, they won't force-feed you as many of us are afraid. They will sit down with you and analyse your calorie intake during the day and give you some suggestions how to eat healthy without feling hungry. I had that problem too, I went and talked to a nutritionist, and she told me that I'm not eating my carbs in the right way, and that makes me feel hungry. My problem was - I was using sweets for snack, she told me to eat a slice of whole grain bread instead. That totally worked for me, but your story might be different.
Oh yeah, BTW, dancing 5 days a week myself, I eat more than my friends who don't dance, and they always like, how can you possibly eat so much, we thought dancers eat almost nothing. No way, I need my energy.

I'm in the music industry, so I can relate to your deli ma. I find that eating breakfast in the morning helps my metabolism and I don't feel hungry until later in the afternoon. I always try to eat light at lunch and have dinner around 6:00. Eating after 9:00 is definitely a bad idea and especially if its "Desert". Another idea is to drink alot of water. As you build up toxins in your body, you start craving things that are not conducive to good eating habits. But all in all you probably look great to everyone else. Sometimes we're just really hard on ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless

Emily, take a chill pill! lol! if you are healthy then you are fine, if you are hungry eat! but you have to tell the difference between eating when hungry or when bored, thats the key thing, if you are hungry instead of reaching for a bag of potatoe chips grab and apple, or a granola bar, you sound like you work out a lot, just know where ur limit is, don't push yourself to hard, i read somewhere that you should be at LEAST 105, so you sound normal! so please, don't stop eating or become belemuc, cause that is DEFINALTLY not the way to feel beautiful!

I don't see anything wrong w/eating that much if you're burning it all off. You shouldn't go hungry or you might lose a bunch of weight...not good if you don't really need to lose weight. You can still eat some indulgent foods but try not to eat a lot of greasy stuff and eat things w/less saturated fat, etc. If you ever quit exercising that much, you will definitely have to eat less or you will gain a lot, though.

at 5'3 and 109? thats not allot your fine no worries mate.

now if you were 5'3 and 160 that would be a problem. its ok to eat alot if your active. I'm 6'6 and 270 and I consume almost 4-6000 calories a day, but I'm extremely active. The key is to maintain your weight wild movements in your weight is bad, which leads to a whole diff road of troubles.

but as they say each person is different, if you still have issues please consult a certified nutritionist or your family doctor. They will set you on the right path.

If you eat less, it will slow your metabolism down. And 5'3" and 109lbs is too thin. I'm the same height and weigh 130lbs, yet mine is all muscle and I wear a size 4. It's not about what the scale says... it's about how your clothes fit and how you feel. You didn't say how old you were, but if you're a teenager, you're still growing and your metabolism is probably going in full gear. If you're hungry, eat. If you feel like you're "fat" go ahead and still eat, but just be selective about what you're eating.

This sounds like the road to anorexia. Just eat healthy and avoid junk food
