Wow, you need those bees, in order to pollenate your plants- without that, you would get any fruits or veggies... I would think you'd want to encourage more bees, not try to keep them away.

Most good gardeners would like to attract more bees into their garden, I know that I do the work that bees do is totally misunderstood, I'm 73 years old and worked in gardens all my life and have never been stung once, if a bee gets trapped in my greenhouse I use a light net to release it outside to save it getting caught in spider webs.

Bees are most attracted to blue and violet colored flowers. Eliminate these. Also tubular flowers where they can crawl down in should be eliminated. So a marigold would be fine, salvias not.

Also bees are attracted to free standing water or gentle fountains......they need water too.

Generally keep the flowers away from outdoor living areas. If you are allergic to stings, keep your epi-pen handy, your neighbors might have flowers and a bee will cut across your yard on the way back to the hive.

As everyone else already pointed out, the flowers need the bees! I don't like bees buzzing around me and my food, but if they are busy in the flowers that are right next to me I don't care - - if they are at the flowers they will leave you alone!

if you have flowers, you can't get rid of bees and don't even try. Bees are becoming scarcer and scarcer and they are ESSENTIAL to pollination of plants.

That's no big deal, you say? Pollination is what produces fruit for ALL plants.. that means veggies, fruits and grains. pollination is the process that forms seeds and the fruits, veggies and seeds are what we eat.. We're talking about a breakdown in the food chain which could cause the collapse of our very being..

If you don't want bees, concrete your yard. Then the bees will have no business there.

Sorry to rant, but we need to be good to bees.. they are good to us, in spite of the way we treat them.

Keep them coming tpo your garden. Bees will not harm you, if they do fly around you it is because they are attracted by deodrants and aftershave. The smeel is similar to flowers for them.
