How does it feel to have no clue what you are talking about? The only reason his is 1-2 and not 3-0 is because the team has scored no runs for him so far. He has an ERA of 2.7, he is second in the league in strikeout with 24, averaging 8 strikeouts a game, and has look ed excellent. He has looked great so far, if the team only gave him some runs. How does it feel to be another ignorant Yankee yahoo who doesnt pay attention to the game?

A bit lacking in the analysis department here. Overhyped, perhaps. A bust? Far from it. From what we've seen from Dice-K this far into the season (it's early), I'd rather have him in our rotation over any of the Yankees starting staff. Rating a pitcher simply on how many wins he has tells you nothing about their performance. Based on this thinking, you're saying that you'd rate another pitcher (Pitcher B) higher than Dice-K simply cuz Pitcher B is 2-1, even though the 2 games (Pitcher B) won he walked 8 guys in 6 innings and gave up 12 runs, but won the game simply because his team put 13 runs up on the board?

It's way too early on in the year to tell if he's gonna be a bust or not. Anyway at least he and the rest of the Red Sox starting pitching is healthy unlike the Yankees pitching rotation which has 3 out of 5 starters on the disabled list.

how could u even say that he is a bust. he has a 2.7 ERA and 24 k's. He has just had some bad luck. He only gave up 3 against seattle and that game the sox got 1 hit. Yesterday he gave up two runs and might i add that he should of had strike 3 against wells but he still only gave up two runs and the red sox only got 1 run. if he got run support in his last two games he could easily be 3-0. By the way how is the yankees pitching staff doing now that they have musina wang and pavano on the DL

Matsuzaka has pitched well so far. Sure he's 1-2, but he hasnt allowed more than three runs in a start so far. He just hasnt had run support so far. Look at Dan Haren of the Athletics. He lost his first two starts despite having a sub 1.00 era. He's still winless with an era of 2.00. He's only had three starts. Unless he turns into Pedro Martinez, he's going to get run support sooner or later. But he's had three good starts so far and he's struck out alot of guys, given up few runs and has not been hit so hard, which are all good signs.

I hope you're joking, otherwise you're giving Yankees fans a bad name.

Any baseball fan with an understanding of basic statistics realizes that win-loss record is among the worst ways in which to evaluate a pitcher. You're talking about a guy who has had three quality starts, a WHIP of 1.10, a 2.70 ERA, and 24 Ks against only 5 walks. That's better than you're going to see from any Yankees pitcher.

I'm a Jays fan, and I was impressed with Matsuzaka's performance last night. I thought he got a generous strike zone, but he still had nasty movement and good velocity. He's going to be a good #2 guy for them all year, and will probably turn out to be their best pitcher.

OK, this is coming not as a boston fan, but as a baseball fan. Dice-K is nowhere near a bust, he has been getting no run support. Look at the stats: 2.70 ERA, 20 IP with 24 K (10 in 2 of his last three starts) only 5 BB and 1 HR, the most earned runs he has given up so far is 3 in one outing, and he lasts longer than any Yankees pitcher, who currently has one of the worst team ERA. Enough said.

Are you serious? He has pitched in 3 games...do you know how ridiculous you sound? Considering that in his loses he has had virtually no run support (Felix Hernandez 1 hitter and last nights game Boston scores 1 run). I dislike both the Yankees and the Red Sox equally so I have no bias either way. We'll see who made the mistake when the Yank's don't make the Playoffs this year and more than likely finish third in the division.

I hate clueless Yankee Fans. How's Pavano, Mussina and Wang working out for you?

Dice-K struck out 10 last night and he would have allowed 0 runs if Lugo didn't miss that ground ball in the 4th inning. He only allowed two runs in his other loss and the Red Sox scored 0! It's the Wakefield syndrome. Wakefield record last year would be over .500 if the Red Sox actually gave him run support. The Red Sox score an average of 1.5 runs a game when Wakefield is pitching.

It is too early to tell whether he is a bust or not It is only mid- April. That is the same thing as saying the Dallas Mavericks are a bust after getting off to an 0-4 start and are now 66-15.
I know you are happy now but wait and see if you are in October.
