Check your grouping symbols. Do you mean (3-(5/2))/(3-(3/2))?
If so, you must perform the subtraction in the numerator (top) separate from the denominator (bottom), then divide.
Convert 3 to a fraction with a denominator common with 5/2. Use 2/2 = 1.
3 * (2/2) = 6/2.
Now perform the numerator's subtraction:
6/2 - 5/2 = 1/2
Repeat this process for the denominator:
6/2 - 3/2 = 3/2
You are left with (1/2)/(3/2).
Remember that division is like multiplication by the reciprocal, thus:
(1*2)/(2*3) = 2/6. Reduce this to 1/3.
Hope that's what you needed!

The numerator is 3 - 5/2, and the denominator 3 - 3/2.
The only denominator within each of these two expressions is 2.
You do not change the value of a fraction if you multiply its numerator and its denominator by the same number.
To get rid of the fractions in each, multiply them each by 2.
The numerator becomes:
2 * 3 - 5
= 6 - 5
= 1 .......................(1)
The denominator becomes:
= 2 * 3 - 3
= 6 - 3
= 3 .........................(2)
Therefore from (1) and (2):
(3 - 5/2) / (3 - 3/2)
= 1 / 3.

If it 3 and 5/2: 5 1/2
if it 3 and 1/2: 4 1/2
if you meant 3 minus 5/2: 1/2
if you meant 3 minus 3/2: 1 1/2
hope this helps you out

it would desire to be complicated, yet its no longer complicated. .. (3 / 4y) - (2 / y) / (a million / y) + (3 / 2y) = (3 / 4y) - (2 / y) * (y / a million) + (3 / 2y) = (3 / 4y) - (2 / a million) + (3 *2 / 4y) = (3 / 4y) - 2 + (6 / 4y) = (3 + 6) / (4y) - 2 = 9 / (4y) - 2 = 9 / (4y) - 8y/(4y) = ( 9 - 8y ) /(4y)
