He was a senator from a famous political family in Massachusetts and then elected president over Richard Nixon in the election of 1960.

He became president in 1961 and was known for some good things and some bad things. He saved the people of West Berlin when the communists built the wall, he opened the door to the Civil Rights movement, he fully funded NASA so that the USA could put a man on the moon by the end of the 1960s (1969) and he also stopped the USSR from putting missiles in Cuba.

On the negative side, he was the first president to send troops to Vietnam, he turned his back on the Bay of Pigs invasion, but not until after he had begun and he was probably the one president who had more sexual affairs with other women than any other.

He was assassinated in November 1963 in Dallas Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald, although many people suggest that there was more than one person involved in the shooting. No one is completely sure of why Oswald killed Kennedy nor who may have been behind it, really.

John F Kennedy was president of the United States from January 1961 to November 1963. He was the youngest man ever to be ELECTED president of U.S. (although Teddy Rosevelt was younger when he became president because McKInnely was shot).

He did alot for Civil Rights, dispelled the tension when there were Missles in Cuba aimed at U.S, gave America a feeling of optomism and pride. His presidency was an era of prosperity and nationwide optomism.

He was shot in November (22?) 1963 while riding in a convertible down the streets of Dallas, Texas, waving to the crowds of adoring fans. His beautiful and popular wife was sitting beside him when he was shot in the head by a sniper. He was pronounced dead within an hour or so.

Lee Harvey Oswald was named as the killer, but many people think that there was a conspiracy, and Oswald was only a "fall guy." or that there were at least two gun men, etc. Many conspiracy theories. Oswald cannot shed any light on the subject because, a day or two later, as he was being transferred from one prison to another, with TV cameras filming, someone shot and killed him.

He was the president of the United States of America. He was assassinated in 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. Than Oswald was assassinated by Jack Ruby. Some believed it was to make sure Oswald did not spill his guts about the government being involved.
