has society gotten so bored with life that they feel the need to point fingers and categorize anyone they see as different?

Sorry but your term should be branded, not labeled. :)
But to answer your question people have a tendacy to point out things within others that they see in themselves. Its a simple but rather complex psychological survival method.
Example: "I am backstabbing wench, but if I point out that the girl next to me is then people wont see it in me so much...or at least I hope" It allows people to try to attempt to look better than others and usually is derived from a low self esteem.

Because self righteous people need to make themselves feel better. If everyone was equal, how would others be able to say they are better than the next guy. Labeling is a breakdown in our society, yet it continues to happen. Sad as it may be.

Look people have no control over their mind, their mind says the to do behave like that, they are people who are not successful in their life, their brought up is wrong or the environment they grew was like that.

yes thats how they separate the rich,middle class and the poor they look up to you as for being rich and middle class and look down on you for being poor and its all blamed on society.
