depends. If they have had bag/purse/ wallet stolen and need a cab, yes. If they are hungry, I would buy them food, not give them the cash. If they just wanted some alcohol or drugs. NO WAY. I would like to think I would only ask someone for $20 if I REALLY needed it, and I would like to think they would give it to me if I explained my situation. Put yourself in their shoes and take a walk. Do they need the $20 now?

It all depends on what they needed the money for. I was asked that while I was about ready to get out of my truck once before going into Godfather's pizza to eat. This huge 280+ lbs black man comes up to my door to my truck and asks for twenty dollars saying that his deisel semi truck ran out of gas and he is hungry blah blah blah.......So I said well I don't have much money and I said I was poor and even showed him a coupon that I was going to use for the pizza. But I said if you are hungry I'll buy you dinner if you want to go in here with me an have some pizza. He said not thanks and just walked away to the next vehicle that came and parked. Sometimes people need the money for something important I mean everybody gets down on thier luck sometimes. But most of them just want money for nothing to spend on crack, booze, etc.

I would ask "what for?" And then if the story had too many details I would know it was a con. It's difficult for a person who is really in need to ask for help and then I would give him every dollar I had in my purse and that would sure top 20 bucks.

absolutely not! Because I'm a recovering drug addict/alcoholic and I know what I'd have done with $20.00 a little over 3 years ago. I would; however, offer to buy him $20.00 worth of food, or pay it to somewhere directly for him/her.

Yes, I would. I am very generous person. Like someone said on here, people are so stingy with their money. I usually give money to the homeless people or buy them food.

No, I mean if it was a "homeless" person i would say no! There is no excuse for that! If it was a old lady in the store who forgot her wallet @ home I would, If I had the $20 bucks!

That would depend on why they needed it and how much I believed their story. If I felt they really needed it and for a really good cause then yes I would.

Probably not. I am not one to give my money to people I don't know, but if they needed the money to feed their kids then I would take them shopping for food.
