Media outlets setting up camp ON campus (which can still be considered a crime scene, BTW), putting as many students as possible on-air for interviews, broadcasting AT and DURING the candle light ceremony.

Are they being too intrusive!?

That's a tough one, but I think that people deserve to know what is happening after something terrible like this has happened. If they did not tell everyone until later, people would feel wronged that they didn't know earlier. If they simply told us that a shooting had happened and then let the matter drop, everyone would want to know the details. I agree that it is frusterating to hear about the candle ceremonies in the news, but it is good to know that they are happening and that thousands of people's hearts are going out to the victims. God bless them.

Sensationalism only begets sensationalism. The media's saturation of this tragedy will only encourage a copycat action in the not-too-distant future. If anything, this 'news' should be minimized so that the families and students can grieve privately. But, the giant media conglomerates are only interested in ratings and profits instead of being responsible journalists that could be reporting on events and circumstances vital to our nation's survival, such as:
a) The corrupt, arrogant, incompetent, U.S. Congress and America's crippled political system;
b) The 'evil empire' inspired by the Bush administration, and how the very top leaders of our government have conspired to go on a killing spree that is constitutionally unjustified;
c) The serious consequences we're facing because of global warming, the depletion of the ozone layer, and the ruination of rainforests vital to Earth's habitation;
d) The terrible coziness between our federal government and big business that is ruining our economy, costing Americans jobs, and squandering taxpayers' dollars.
Why doesn't the news media investigate these activities? First of all, they're part of the conspiracy - and, secondly, it would be too "boring" for most viewers, which means most networks would lose advertising revenue. -RKO- 04/18/07

It is the news, and they are at the scene. It should not happen, however it did, and we would all like to find out how it can be prevented. Perhaps there will be an answer in time, Now they find that the Counterstrike game may have had an influence.

when they keep asking how does it make you feel ; how do you think it makes you feel to have a wild gunman loose killing innocent people in the prime of their life just for the mere sake of killing
