if this is the first time you see it, you probably won't get the whole gist of it. The first time I saw it, I felt kind of lost because everyone else seemed to know the show so much more than me. It is strange--what happens. Ummm...I would suggest you watch the movie first to know what to expect--granted it's good, if you get into it and like that sort of thing. I do.

Yes.
You have to go dressed up or you will feel left out!!!

You aren't allowed Rice, Water Pistols or Camera's and are searched prior to going in. These items are confiscated.(Camera's are given back!!)

Every body has a big photo shoot at the end and if your costume is great you'll be photographed lots!

It's great fun especially if you know the songs- so have a whale of a time!!!!

(The Rocky Horror Show is the theatre! The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the film!)

I used to go every Friday when I was a youngster... Must have seen it forty or fifty times by now. You just can't get the same experience from watching the DVD, you have to be in a crowd of slightly wasted people to get the true experience of it. If the theater lets you throw stuff (most don't) take along rice, toast, toilet paper, an umbrella and a water gun. Remember.... It's just a jump to the left! And then a step to the ri - i - i - ight, put your hands on your hips, and bring your knees in tight! Have a great time!!

is this your first time we call u a virgin. lol you will have more fun if you go with an experienced guide. get the book if you can so you can read up on all the responses your supposed to give during the movie. it is a fully participating event. in the city we even have live actors perform in front of the screen. its totally aw some. have fun and learn the time warp dance. call the theater were playing and ask them what if anything your allowed to bring such as a deck of cards news paper water gun and so on. also dress in costume but ask first most theaters don't let u bring anything any more or they limit you to certain items. ask your Friend to help you pick out your costume. its great fun. enjoy

I've seen it on stage - I went when I was late teens with my Mum! Quite shocking to experience it with my Mum but it was brilliant - a real laugh and a great night out! Watch out for people in costume - they will look great... Have a brilliant time. There is a cinema near Leicester Square in London (I think it's the Prince/King Charles Theatre) that has a midnight showing of the film on Friday night - they sell props and staff dress up and act out scenes on a stage in front of the cinema screen - well worth it if you're in the area.

I wish I can soon catch it on stage.
I only watched the screen version in '73. Fantastic!
Well, ok, "let's do the time warp againnn...." that's just one of the great tunes from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Yes..Yes..Yes!!! I have been many times...theaters used to show it a lot at "midnight" shows...it's loads of fun...but if you've never been, you will feel lost and confused...Some of the things said in the movie are taken literally ("A toast"..and then you throw toast.. things like that) And people, you don't just bring toast...you need, newspaper, a squirt gun, cards, toast,,,etc..
And then there are the things you are to "yell" out...like anytime Janet is on screen you say "Weisssssssssss" (her last name...with mutiple 's's"...their are TONS of things in that movie that "requires" your participation... suggest finding a fan website that may be able to walk you thru the "ins and outs" of the movie...
Most of all...have fun! It's a nonsense movie with no redeeming social value...just good fun and laughs..

Sure have! Several times! And on Broadway (starring Luke Perry as Brad, Ana Gastier from SNL as Columbia, and Dick Cavet as the narrator!)

Be prepared to be "hazed" as a virgin and leave your inhibitions and ANY level of homophobia at the door XD

It was a cult thing when I was a kid

I went 3x I think

a very strange phenomenon

kids acting the roles, bringing rice and toilet paper, etc

I think it was mostly Tim Curry they liked, funny sort of average movie otherwise, maybe gay kids found some feeling of being ale to tell their friends they were gay, sort of slightly anyway

You mean the play, yes? I've seen it 2 times...much different than the movie version *Rocky actually has lines besides singing*. The play is very good..Richard O'Brien knows his stuff :) Hope you enjoy it!!
