They are gonna have to blow it up their a.s.s!

You'll now get the true benefit of that dangling fir tree near the windscreen, when you are driving around.

I agree with Jim. We should and could all have the choice in a free society and pubs and clubs could set aside a room for smokers and a room for non-smokers. Lots of bar staff smoke themselves and would be ok working in the smokers' bar.
If this ban went all the way and stopped everyone in the UK from smoking all you intolerant, smug non-smokers would have your way and 'clean' air, but income tax would rise by 3p in the pound to replace the tax and duty we pay the exchequer. Now I would be a lot better off paying an extra 3p in the pound income tax rather than what I spend on cigarettes, but you non-smokers...............
Guess who would have the last laugh.

I have been a smoker for longer than I care to remember...

Personally I welcome the ban, it's my choice to smoke but equally it is the choice of others not to smoke...

The main consideration for the ban has to be for the health of those that work in bars etc. I read a statistic that during an 8 hour shift some much passive smoke is inhaled that it is the equivalent of smoking 15 cigarettes!

P.S. Would prefer not to be referred to as a "chuffer", personally I prefer the term "magic dragon"!

It's already going on here and has sice 2nd April. I'm glad there is nothing worse than when at a bus stop or going down the street and someone almost stabs your kids eye out with a f ag.

I Chose not to smoke, so why should I have to breathe in someone elses. I would like to takev my kids into resturants and cafe's without choking on someone elses smoke, I hate the smell of it in my hair and on my clothes.

I do think though that there should be a smoking room in pubs for the smokers.

Smokers are the social lepers of our culture. Although I've quit, I think the laws are getting a little carried away. I believe in the free enterprise system and believe that whether a business chooses to allow or not allow smoking, it should be up to the business owner and not big brother. If it is more profitable to be a non-smoking establishment, then the capitalist nature of our society will dictate that. I believe that establishments that allow smoking should be required to post that information at each entrance to their establishment. I you don't want to be exposed to smoke, don't go in. Public buildings where the general public must go, like government buildings, courts, etc.., should be non-smoking.

Smoke outside. In Montréal, many of the bars have outside terraces and patios. Not much fun smoking is if if 45 degrees below zero, but they give you the opportunity to smoke.

I understand people becoming defient, because the smoking ban, is forcing them out side to smoke. Cigarettes are un healthy and hard to guit. I my self do enjoy a smoke free environment. At times, the smell of that smoke, makes me think about lighting up again my self.

Simple, break the law. Why should I as a smoker suffer because someone else that is a non-smoker whines and whines and whines about it? This is a form of discrimination if ever I saw one!! Picking on a specific group of people is wrong, even if what they do is not the best for them-it is my choice to smoke and no one else has the right to stop me from making that choice. Sure, I don't mind going outside the bar/pub to have a smoke, but don't stop me from having the smoke because then I will just have to break another law (and I do enough of that already, thanks!)

I want to know what gives you the right to tell me to stop smoking. If that's the case then lest start the probation again. a bar yo know its gonna be smokey in there if you do not smoke stay out or go to a non smoking bar. I can see that in a restaurant that it is a good think.

I'll puff away when I'm walking down the street just as I have always done. When I'm in the pub I'll pop outside with the rest of the smokers.
