Chemistry, as a course, is difficult. It requires enormous amount of time and energy to "survive" in this field. But still, perserverance makes a difference.

Difficult relative to what?

Relative to a business major, or anything of that sort YES.

You MUST be good at math. Calc I,II,III and Differential Equations is required for a B.S. in Chemistry.

You must also take Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, all with their own 3 hour long labs. Along with that you are going to be required to take an extra science course, and for chemistry majors its Calculus Based physics. Another course which is extremely difficult.

My university graduates ~100 chemistry majors a year, out of around 20,000 students at the school. Chemistry is a difficult, time consuming major. In the end, it will pay off though, as you can impress your friends with all the fancy stuff you know, and you will get a good job out of college.

Sidenote, you can really do anything with a chemistry degree, you can go into pharmacy, polymers, ANYTHING. But to be a chemist, as in chemistry specific you will need a graduate degree, preferable a Doctorate (PhD).

If you want to seriously go to school and take a difficult subject, Def. take chemistry!

If you want to go to college and party, dont take chemistry.
