The question appears simple, although the answer is somewhat complex.

The answer is of the it depends variety.

It depends on:
the velocity and energy of the bullet
the weight, strength and friction of the sheet

I've read that a handgun bullet from a .38 special will not penetrate a silk scarf when fired from (I believe) at least three feet distance. The pictures that accompanied the text showed the scarf sliding up and over the bullet as it passed. (very high speed cameras were employed to take the pictures).

I understand that if you hang a sheet of silk from a clothesline and then shoot it, that the bullet will not penetrate it. Apparantly, this may be due to the energy being absorbed by the material rather than completely stopping the energy,

i would say that yes a bullet shot from a gun would go through a bed sheet it is only material

Only when shot out of a gun, or thrown at the sheet very hard.
