Ughhhh, I know what you mean. When I was in high school, I saw alot of my class mates who drove Mustangs and Corvettes. And of course I didn't fit in because I was poor :( I know exactly what you mean about those rich snooty kids.

It doesn't bother me per say...but I do think it is a shame. They don't have a well developed sense of responsibility nor are they truly able to appreciate nice things at that age. So I feel sorry for their parents when they always expect things handed to them.
When I was in high school - I NEVER changed my oil despite my mother nagging me, I ran into all sorts of things in my car and didn't see the big deal in it. It was because I had a teenagers brain - I just didn't know any better. Thank God I didn't have a $30,000+ car.

No, actually, I have no amount of jealousy for anything or anyone.
Besides, I paid for my own, and it's not ragged out like someone else paid for it, and the driver doesn't care, for lack of respect.
And my insurance isn't anywhere close to what daddy has to pay for theirs!
Once while driving back to town, a souped up sports car comes barreling into the 4 lane, he cuts in front of me, and while whipping it into my lane (I'm going 65 mph) the kid looses control of the car, fishtails and then circles twice, and is now facing me in my lane. My two small children in the back seat. I had slowed down when i seen the idiot come across the first two lanes very narrowly missing an 18 wheeler.
i'm going 45mph now, and almost to a stop.
My youngest says mama, He's gonna tear up our car!
My answer, No baby his cars made of fiberglass, ours is made of real metal. Momma's got to stop so she doesn't cream them and their car. We'll be ok, but they won't be if we hit.
So, no, I think people are foolish to go buy cars for spoiled kids.

I live in New York, first off you can't get your license here till your eighteen, and the majority of kids graduate before that happens. Second of all, I'de have loved to see them try an find a parking spot. No one drives to school where I live!!

I live in the city and the high school is right down the street,,,Some of the kids come in from other towns, I can't believe some of the cars they drive,,,I don't know if they are theirs or their parents, but they are way better than my car..

Yes, especially since I drove a junker that my dad fixed up for me when I was in school. In the 30 years that I've been out of school, I've never owned a new vehicle.
How dare they.

Yeah, I'm bothered. But what really winds me up is to see some old gray-haired geezer in a really hot (usually sporty) car. I KNOW he has probably earned it (unlike most of the high school kids) but somewhere, it still ticks me off. (I think that's called jealousy???)

Hell yes!. One in a Range Rover even rear ended my lowly Honda a couple years ago. Her folks paid for the damage in cash so it wouldn't leave a ding on her insurance :(
I'd have slapped the kid if I wouldn't get stuck with assaulting a minor.

No, got over that one years ago. Most people make more than teachers. It's when the kid teaches better, that's when I get a little depressed.
