when the first film came out I was only 13 but I couldn't wait to see it.But when I was eventually old enough ,I was a bit disappointed with it ,so I think now they could make a much better remake or sequel .What do you think?!
Perhaps it could be called "DEATHRACE 206'2' (Twenty sixty 'two')

The remake (or sequel) is already in the works:

The title right now is Death Race 3000, and Paul W.S. Anderson (AVP, Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat) is currently slated to direct it.

IMDB currently has it listed that it is scheduled to be released some time in 2008.

...get ready to get happy!!!

The production company responsible for the 'Resident Evil' movies, the 'Alien vs. Predator' movies, and the upcoming movie adaption of the 'Castlevania' video game, spear-headed by director/producer Paul W.S. Anderson, is on the fast track to produce a remake of 'Death Race 2000', entitled 'Death Race 3000' (though I highly doubt the film actually takes place in the year 3000).

No director has been assigned, nor has any casting been announced; however, apparently actor/producer Tom Cruise's production company wants a hand in the film. If this is a case, we may just see Tom Cruise try to fill the shoes of David Carridine (HAAAA!!!! Highly unlikely.....,.and besides, hasn't Cruise already done his racing car movie already???)

Anyways, Stay Tuned.......
