The Virginia Tech incident is probably the first time I've heard of an Asian person going on a suicide mission to take as many people out as possible. Probably hasn't happened since the Japanese Kamikaze strikes in World War 2.

Why are people dissing Asians now?

Because people are hurting and looking for somewhere to lay blame. Its human, sad but only human.

I guess its because Asia have been involved in devastating the US, for example Japan (Pearl Harbour during WWII) and the Korean War, Vietnam etc. And now, Asia, in particular China has an immensely vast economy that could soon be threatening the US economy within 5-10 years. Its just survival of the fittest, and overcoming competition. But to blame it on generally Asians is very ignorant; as most of us know, the culture in the US has a lot to answer for the behaviour of its citizens. The rampant killer at VT was Asian, but his identity is none other than citizen of the United States. The problem lies within the country and its administrators.

Seris: What planet are you on? You need to learn your history. Japan attacked the US in WW2, but please learn the factors behind that. Did you know that the US government at the time had put crippling sanctions on Japan well prior to the attack, which would have contributed to the need for the attack? Korea was a war that was not just fought by the US (once again get your facts straight). The South Koreans were supported by UN troops (please note the "N" not the "S" as in US), and the fighting was on Korean soil, not America. In Vietnam, the US fought in that war and that once again was not on American soil, it was over in Vietnam. The reason for the UN being in Korea and the US being in Vietnam was to stop the spread of communism and promote the spread of capitalism.
Back to your question, I agree with the first poster. However, it is not just an American thing, it is a world-wide problem. No longer are people wanting to look at themselves or factors around them, it is just easier to find something or someone else to blame for all the problems. There should be no blame on a race of people for something happening, or the actions of one person. We, as a global society, need to get past the skin color thing and realize that people anywhere can snap and do terrible things, and that race has nothing to do with it.

have you been living under a rock? Of course other asians have gone on murder-suicide missions besides Japanese Kamikaze missions. Even on the news last night one of the stations mentioned a Korean guy who killed 50-something people before killing himself. This is not to say that anti-asian backlash is warranted or justified, because it's not. Ugh, why am I even arguing this point?

But just because you never heard of it doesn't mean it didn't happen. It means you need to pick up a book.

How about Charles Eng. Howmany people did he murder in Calaveras County? How many people did Mo Tze Dong murder in China during the cultural revolution. I believe that Japan had a poison gas attack in their subway tunnels a few years back. How about Kim-Jong il; always wanting to build up N Korea's nuclear weapons and threatening the US for free aid.

No culture and/or society are free from crazy psychopathic killers. All of human kind is plagued with these non-human killers.

I can say that, this has not change my opinions of asians. asians are the most peaceful, and sincere groups i know. that's why there are less of asians in prison then any other ethnic groups. i hope people won't make quick assuming opinions because of this awful incident.

i also feel that the media is focusing too much on this killer. I strongly feel that the focus most be on the victims and heroes. Isn't this what the killer wanted? attention? and the media is giving him what he wants.

Actually down in TX there was a college shooting that killed 16 people done by a white man, so why don't they tell all whites to go back to Europe. White people are mostly the ones who are dissing Asians, because they are racist, You would never here them saying "That white man should go back to Europe" they would be dissing one of their on.
People commit crimes according to their crazed minds not their race. Maybe some Asians should understand that too when it comes to Black people.

B/C Americans love scapegoats.
The kid lived there since he was 8. Come on...
It's easier for them to blame "Asians" than to take a good hard look at their own screwed up society and gun obsession.
