Why do people engage in physical abuse?

Like why do partners who seem to not show any signs of abuse start abusing their partners? Like after say 4 years of marriage? Would you say that the answer could really be "that she drove me to it?" or is that unacceptable?

Alot of different reasons. Many women I`ve known over the years complain that they get abused in arguments when they are the ones who are right. Husbands can`t stand to be wrong to a woman. It seems it`s a jolt to their ego and of course the fear of failure.

if the question you are asking is about you, run away as fast as you can. The abuse, once it starts, it never ends. No one needs to be in a marriage, where there is pain, agony and abuse. You deserve better.

if u don't pick it up in the beginning or before u are married , that is ur own fault.
Secondly, if ur spouse is abusive, and u don't leave them immediately, but stay and try to work it out, which doesn't work, u deserve all the abuse u get.

people who are abused are made to feel as if no one else out there wants them and that the treatment they are receiving is not even half of what they'll get out there. Its not acceptable, however, when you are insecure with yourself or afraid of your partner, you'll make yourself believe that he or she will change.
