I agree, there's no excuse. I don't think they were certain it was a suicide, however, they had two dead students and no idea where the shooter was....you don't just shrug your shoulders and say "Oh well, he probably left the campus by now....no need to make a big deal of it" which is basically what they did. Ridiculous.

I agree. Two students were slaughtered in a dorm and nothing was done for 2 hours. The gunman did the shootings but he couldn't have killed the students in the classrooms if the college had been evacuated after the first two murders. The classrooms would have been empty.

Just because you have a homicide does not mean you shut down an entire university. If he wanted to kill it wouldn't matter where he went he could go across the street, but no one expects someone to just start killing dozens of people. Its impossible to be completely safe from someone like him. he was a student at VT so i mean if he had class its not like he couldn't get his way into a class room building or dorms.

Actually I believe the security team believed the shooter had left the campus. Taking his gun.

people shoot themselves in the head all the time without a gun just ask the Clintons
