More crimes of all kinds than ever before, soaring drug use, rampant alcholism, anti-social behaviour orders, disregard for authority, the worst child poverty problem in the developed world according to UNICEF, an explosion of teenage pregnancies, the decline of an empire, the nanny state, CCTV, ID cards, immorality... Does anyone see the link between the decline of our nation with the increasing hatred towards God and his values?

Sounds about right. See how civil life was back in the 50's, and then everything slid down the swer after the 'revolution' of the 60's.

It will only get worse in decades to come.

Put your ideas in perspective. In the 19 th century drug taking was rampant but it was not illegal and most people went to church. Anti-social behaviour was also quite common the right up to the 1930's there were parts of London the police had to go into in threes. Also in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries when almost everyone believed in a christian god child poverty was rampant which was why you got people like Banardo starting children's home. Teenage pregnancy was as high as it is now and there was no welfare state to assist. All this time the church had a lot of influence and as I see it as the church influence has declined things in the nation have improved. Frankly I think so called "Christian Values" are total fraud and an excuse for priests to gain and maintain their power over the population.
Also "God" as you are presumably thinking of him, her or it does not have values those are invented by priests

Yes it is.

First of all, problems with drugs and crime have always been around. Know your history. The world began more than 20 years ago!
There were laws against drunks centuries ago. Even the bible speaks out against abuse of alcohol.
So look a tiny bit further first.

Secondly, not every two things that happen at the same time also happen as a result of each other.
We've seen a tremendous rise in use and functionality of the internet, too. So is the logical conclusion that Christianity has been holding us back, and we only got Internet after we started abandoning Christianity?
Not everything is a simple 1+1=2.

Because life was far more "moral" in the 1800's...wait, there was that Christian approved slavery thing. The early 1900's maybe...nope there was that whole Christian approved segregation...

Your world view is entirely skewed. First, violent crime is down, not up. Second, teen pregnancies have increased because of the complete lack of any real sex education at home or school. This is because of the Christian view that sex is dirty and talking about it condones it. Families that are open with their children about sex are far less likely to have their teen get pregnant. Families that teach their kids safe sex have far fewer instances of STDs. Tell your kids to wait, but prepare them with real facts about sex. Kids don't avoid something just because you say it is wrong. Telling them "sex is bad, don't have it" doesn't work because it is bull crap. Kids have good B.S. detectors. They understand that mom and dad had to do the horizontal mambo at least once. They also eventually figure out that mommy and daddy don't actually have mattress jumping competitions.

As for immorality, who gets to decide what is moral? The racist, misogynistic, genocidal God of the Old Testament? How about the peace love and happiness hippie New Testament God? Maybe the schizophrenic Allah should get a say? We should probably let Buddha take a whack at it as well. What is immoral for one is business as usual for another. I think we should probably let our morals be based on things we can all agree on. That which hurts others is bad, that which helps is good. See, clean simple moral code that allows for the superstitious to worship whatever myth they want.

all these things you say have been happening for years. its only more prevalent now because the media brocasts every single event. Back in the dark ages the average age for girls to get married and pregnant was what? 14 or so. So come on dude. They used drugs back then too, and poverty was everywhere, please and that was the height of christian values. i think people today arent so bad. i work in the medical field, and the people i see come into the ER who have all those problems ARE chrisitans, and not the hippy peace loving atheiests..so shut the f up asshole

Yes it's just a coincidence!

It's basic respect for one another that's gone to the dogs really. I don't have much time for religion at this present time, but if it helps you then have fun.

Isn't it funny that most Americans claim to be Christian and that violence and hatred are rampant?
