It profits too much big business.
Plus the operators in control of the cars are actually the killers. Have you ever seen a car, start itself, dash out the drive, run downtown, mow down a few pedestrians and go hide in a barn on the outskirts of town? No, it is always the moron driving the car that does the killing.

Love the stinging sarcasm. You are so right though. Lets face it blaming guns for the evil perpertrated by man is childish. If they don't have a gun to commit crime they will just think of another way or else criminals will be the only ones with guns because they will go on the blackmarket just like drugs. The blame is soley upon the criminal there has to be a finger to pull the trigger.

I agree, traffic fatalities would go way down if we outlawed cars and forced everyone into public transporation, which has always proven to be a very reliable way to get around.

On top of that, every single television channel and every form of print media in this Country has run stories about how obese America is getting so I think it's high time that we outlawed spoons and forks.

They sure do!

Side note to Modern down there - Clara Harris here in the Houston area used her mercedes to murder her husband by running him over multiple times while their 16 year old daughter sat in the front passenger seat.

Some people do use their vehicles to cause harm to others.

Civilian Airliners are not designed to kill either, yet, in the hands of 20 maniacs, 4 airliners killed over 3000 people.

A lot of things are not designed to kill, but in the hands of maniacs, they can be used to kill.

To minimize, and perhaps deter, maniacs who will follow no laws to kill anyone with anything, the only sensible thing to do is to have weapons, designed to kill, in the hands of those who will step up, and be at the point of impact when these maniacs initiate one of their killing sprees. It will not stop all senseless killing, but it will minimize the loss.

LOL, this gave me a chuckle.

My younger brother actually died in a car accident, when a 92 year old man with Alzheimer's hit him on a divided highway.

I say we ban old people from driving! Oh and lets also ban irons. I don't know how many times mine has maliciously burned me!

What about drownings, too? We lose far too many people to drownings each year.

We need swimming licenses. Pools must be registered. No pool can be deeper than two inches (in case you slip and fall--you can still breathe).

We just need more of that good old NANNY state.

Bring on the laws, Bay-bee!!

People are more concerned with other issues right now. But indirectly they are attacking the auto industry. They hope to dissolve GM and Ford so more US workers will be out of jobs and depend on Big Brother.

You omitted one important fact, how many are killed by cars
being driven by illegals. How can illegals obtain and operate
these cars, potential weapons, waiting to take a life.

Actually it is closer to 50,000 in the US alone. I have raised this same point myself.

The cry for gun control is just a knee jerk reaction by irrational people.
