wat is dis program called svchost.exe in my pc(xp)?it is using all d cpu i dnt kno y..plz help!!?

its a system program........
but its using all d cpu suddenly wen i swichd on d pc rite now dnt kno y.........

is it spyware or virus controlled
n it has alredy stopped....but 4 15mins it was using nearly 90% of the cpu....without ne user interface n literally in idle state...wid no progs runnin
