anything can be fixed on a car, even the frame. Insurance company only call a car total because the damage is 60% (or about, can't quite remember) of the car cost and it's better just to pay instead of repairing. So If the have a $10,000 car and the damage is 6,000, it can be declare Totaled. If you have a !00 thousand dollar car the damage cost could be 60,000 and still be fixed. Any metal that can be bend, can be bent back.

okay the question is whether a bent frame will total a vehicle. Not necessarily. Bent frames happen ALL the time. That's why body shops have frame machines to repair them. Sometimes they need to do a cross section and repair. the old story of bent frame means total is just an old wives tale. Now if all the damages on the vehicle are 70% of the value of the vehicle or more then yes, the vehicle is total. But this is all the damage not just the frame. There are also times something is considered a cosmetic total, meaning for whatever reason the damges don't add up to this and they decide to total it for structural or safety reasons. This is rare. To get your car to line up again, the shop has to be within MILLIMETERS on specifications. Otherwise none of the parts fit right and there are large gaps and other issues. Most body men are trained for this. Just make sure you go to a reputable shop and stay away from those that will SAVE you your deductible. Trust me there will be no savings in the long run. Depending on the damage you have about a 50/50 shot at it being a total loss

What your insurance company will do is they will asses the damage and see if it is cheaper to fix your car up or whether it is cheaper to pay you the full value of your insurance. It really depends how severe the damage actually is. If it costs more to fix then your insurance covers, they will write off your car and total it. If not they will fix your car up. I'd be praying that the car is a write off because a car is never the same after a big accident.

hondas have an incredible resale value and they do not depreciate as fast as other cars;thats most likely the reason they wont total your car.a reliable body shop can straighten the frame and you shouldnt be able to tell that there was ever a problem

They can straighten it on a large, really expensive machine, but it will probably never be exactly right again. It depends on how much the car is worth and how much the repair will cost.
