well as a trained storm spotter/chaser i've seen my fair share of tornados, however i am glad to say that i've never felt the full force of one, i am always a safe distance away from them. i observe them, relay information to the National Weather Service and try to help those who have felt the full force of a tornado. the hail on the other hand, i've got tons of personal experience with it, about got hit on the head by a hail stone the size of a cool-whip contain last may, it missed me by about 4 feet landed in the ditch and exploded into about 6 pieces the size of ping-pong balls, and i've nearly been struck by lightning on several occassions too....just stay alert and keep an eye out and you should be fine.

Yes. A tornado ripped through a town I was in while attending college.
If you have heard that a tornado sounds like a train, well, it's true. You'll never forget it.
Funny thing is, it was over as quickly as it began.
On another note, When I surfed, I would GO to the beach during a hurricane(Some of the best surf I have ever encountered. One wave after another, set after set . You could time the waves with your watch).
Don't get me wrong, I know any storm can be devastating, but the odds for survival are in your favor.
Look at TV weathermen. They are at the beach or the location of the storm as well. They just were not having as much fun as we were.

Yes, I have and yes it's scary when it happens. It is very loud with the wind howling. Thankfully we were not injured, nor did the house receive a lot of damage. Odds of being in a tornado are something like 1 in 39000. Just make sure you're prepared in case there is one. I have lived in the most active part of tornado alley for 5 years now and we have not had a tornado head on. Go to this link to learn more.

They should scare the helll out of ya.That or they have been my fear for life, i have had maybe 30 or more real like dreams about getting sucked into the dark sky, only to wake in my safe bed.I climb and cut to the ground big trees and i never had a bad dream about that. Now with the climate change you should make sure you are ready for the real deal.

No, besides the incontrovertible fact that it incredibly is my dream to work out one. they're unusually appealing. i may be the guy chasing the tornado or watching it from the window. i might run in the direction of the tornado. Then if it have been given too close i might run away.

I've been in three. What an adrenaline rush! There is nothing like it, being able to witness such beauty and power, it really made me feel small. Make sure that you will have a storm cellar or safe place to go if you end up in its path. Otherwise, stay clear, and enjoy!

Yes---Michigan-------and it can be quite scary!! The wind howls sooooo bad you cant hear the people in your own house talk, and weird things seem to be suspended in mid air, until they're found a quarter mile away.
