I just don't buy all that much junk food when I am shopping. If it isn't in the house that can't eat it. My son likes me to pack his lunch for school but my daughter likes the school lunches and usually gets a salad or a wrap sandwich. They don't offer all the vending machines that some schools do. We live in the country and the nearest fast food place is 15 miles away so the only time they get that is if we go near it on an all day shopping spree which is maybe once a month.

While I mostly agree, junk food isn't the only problem. Kids aren't getting enough exercise. They don't play outside like we used to. I ate crap food all the time at home and only had whatever the school gave us for the daily meal. And the nearest fast food place was over 40 miles away. But, I rode my bike everyday, climbed trees, played kickball, shot hoops, and I was never overweight. If kids were allowed to play more instead of plunking themselves in front of the TV or video game, it might be a bit different.

Unfortunateley, most parents have to work these days.
It is just so easy, to feed the kids junk food or slip them some money to buy lunch.
But, hellooooooooooo.
You can cook a weeks worth of food and put it in the freezer.
Pull it out and microwave.
Healthy meal.
There is no exuse for kids to eat junk food.
Really.

I work in a school lunchroom. Kids eat way too much sugar. Chocolate and strawberry milk should never be allowed. U see lots of kids eating candy and things like hot chips.
