Well first and most importantly, that's less than are killed by automobiles every year. Secondly while I think your number is inflated, let us assume that it is right, the fact is every stat I have ever seen shows the overwhelming majority of those deaths are among the criminal element. Whether it is drug dealers killing each other, gang violence, criminals brought down by police, criminals brought down by homeowners and citizens protecting themselves. Do I care if a gang banger in Compton shoots another one,or gets shot by the cops or some guy they try to carjack? No! So they don't even count as far as I'm concerned,in fact alot of their deaths are an argument for the second amendment, not against it.In fact when I see the number of criminals that are killed by citizens, cops and each other it makes me think there need to be more guns, every dead gang banger or thief is a good thing for America.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people and reguardless
the goverment can take away all the guns and there still would be a just as many murders each year by other means of weapons choice. Guns just happen to be deadlier of
other weapon choices. we can change the laws but we can't change the people. and if a person is going to kill someone they don't need a gun to do so. case in point, those who abide by the laws and that value their right to bare arms are the ones who will pay for others idiocy and not to meantion those who become the victims.

The number of murders is too high. It is folly to focus on the method used. It does not matter if the murder victim was shot, stabbed, bludgeoned or burned. Why are so many people killing?
Upon closer inspection you will find most people are killed by people they know. Understanding why people choose to kill their friends and family is what needs to be studied.
See the attachment story. It is about one of the most horrendous mass murders in America. There were no firearms involved.

And a few million die each year from natural causes.. I think we should have a big Senate committee hearing and look into natural causes and how to stop it.. then we can look into all the thousands of deaths by cars and motorcycles..
Certainly do not forget the 1million babies that die each year through surgical abortion which is legal.

I think that limiting an easy access to guns is not going to fix it but at least decrease the number of victims...
... and if everyone has a gun in the US... does owing a gun make you really safer?...
