I think what your asking is about our inclination. The rotation is inclined a bit, not straight up and down with respect to how we move around the sun. We wobble a bit which makes winter and summer in the north and wet and dry in the south. The poles are tipped away in the wobble in the north giving more exposure to the south in northern winter. The pole straightens out a bit for the north summers and exposure is more centralized to the equator.
