When we die , chemistry takes over and our bodies disintegrate. The whole idea that there is soul is a confidence trick incessantly employed by the priests and pastors, imams etc in order to keep the laity in constant subjugation and servility. Not for me these heartless agents of evil. I can and have lived without their spurious help. Is it time for human beings to be mentally free from these people? They do not care for anything like the liberation of the mind from fear. Many thanks.

Interesting question but is there really any documented scientific evidence to certify that we lose 21 grams in weight when we die? Some people may say that that's because the soul leaves the body but that's only a presumption and it's not proven.

This is incorrect, the idea that the soul weighs 21 grams comes from a very bad study carried out about 100 years ago, it is universally discredited. The scientist in question thought he had found evidence of the human soul.

As lots of other people have said: we don't. The release of gas and so on can have an effect on the weight of a body before and after death. The 21-grams-at-the-point-of-death thing just ain't true though.

This just isn't true, unfortunately.
One doctor almost 100 years ago attempted to measure any change in weight at death. He only did six tests, and two of those didn't work at all. The other results were widely inconsistent with each other, and only one of them was anything close to 21 grammes.

Could it be the air in our bodies? Would that make up 21 grams?
Is this information credible?
