If I knew I was going to rise again in 3 days and then go to heaven for eternity afterwards I'd die for a crackwhore. If you believe the biblical story, jesus didn't really sacrifice anything, he traded up.

first off, We do not need another Jesus to "die for the sins of others." That was accomplished by the real Jesus. In reply, No human can "really be like Jesus." As humans, we fall short to live like him. The bible says (or something like it): "No greater sacrifice is there for a man than to lay his life for a friend (or brother, sister, parents, etc.)." examples are soldiers dying to protect its homeland and its citizens from wrongful outside aggression ; the police dying to protect its citizens from evil criminals; and any good person to protect a family member or a friend, or even a stranger from life-threatening situations or wrongdoing. Beyond that, humans can do nothing to "die for the sin of others." Anyone claiming to be Jesus willing to be nailed to the cross to atone for humanity's sins is nothing but a nutcase.

Well, assuming that there was a God, and that I was the son of God and aspect of God, just like Jesus, would I have a choice? But as myself, just a human, not believing, frankly, that mankind can be "saved", no. Being willing to help other people doesn't mean being willing to die for their sins when I don't believe in the concept of sin in the first place. There is evil in the world, there always has been and always will be and personally it seems to me that sacrificing people or gods hasn't and never will eliminate it.

Like Summer t said, Jesus was perfect and we are not. Here is a point though, Jesus was not wild about the idea himself. Before being arrested, he was in a garden praying. Three times he prayed, talking to his Father about if there was any way out of this, he was more than willing but, always he would put doing what his Father wanted above all.

Honestly, I have no aspirations to be like Jesus.... I couldn't even think about trying to bear the Cross for not only my own personal sins, but for others.
And that brings me to another point... How could someone else be a/the savior and yet, be a sinner themselves? Impossible!
THANK God, He paid for it all on Mt. Calvary!!!

we could never REALLY be like Jesus since
Jesus is the son of God & he is PERFECT,
we are not
so I'd say no we could not die for the sins
of others , he took everyone's sins so they
could have eternal life & his death was ENOUGH,
if only people would repent of their sins

Just getting some Christians to willingly die is enough for me.
