I wasn't advocating the killing of innocent starving children, but knowing that the Militia in Darfur are faced with these decisions that they seem to take lightly I was interested in a Western Soldiers view on how difficult they would find it confronted with such a situation.

Also in the Sudan a, child soldiers are a bigger threat to relief workers and the UN as a question answerer quite rightly stated that child soldiers are more dangerous than an adult one as they have no sense of compassion or right or wrong. We are trained to a degree on how to handle child soldiers so was interested again if you were trained any differently as soldiers.

I also apologise to those who think my questions are stupid and pointless, but I guess you don't have to look at them if you don't want to. Its true that I've never served in the Military but have managed to get under their feet several times (sorry!), but I have the upmost respect for those of you that serve and have served.

Anyone that recruits children of any age to do their dirty work for them obviously has no concept of right or wrong. Adults that allow this to go on can only be labeled as terrorist. I can't think of anything more terrifying than to have a bomb strapped to a child, have the child walk up to you during a military operation. Have the bomb detonate killing you and the child. Then having your commanders left discussing how training might be enhanced to better prepare your fellow soldiers for that situation in the future. I have a feeling this one area that military trainers aren't spending a whole lot of time on.
Or maybe I'm just crazy.....

What everyone has to realise is that under such conditions normal western morals standards and views are not the ones lived by the local populations.

Iv always though that trying to impress upon these tribal peoples western values is wrong and in fact we shouldn't interfere in something that has nothing to do with us.

What do you want them to go all weak in the knees and blubbering like a sissy every time faced with a difficult situation?

Are they human? Yes, but the mind tends to block out horriffic events over time and you become desensitized as a survival mechanism.

The first time, many soldiers vomit and become severely depressed and haunted. But afterwards, it just becomes routine.

I wouldn't worry Muck Meister..... Molly is a twit that can't stand by her own profile convictions and Francis is clearly deranged....

The truth is that people find you a little hard to take and cocooned in their little world of opulence and internet and cups of coffee they turn their faces away from suffering.... unless of course it happens on their doorstep.

Keep fighting for the underdogs girl, I and others will be behind you on here!
