What is your opinion on this Gospel, which because of its views has come for heavy criticism? Though its writing is chronologically placed in times during the lifetime of Jesus, it disagrees with Christianity by saying, among other things that Jesus never claimed to be the son of God.
Kindly refrain from hatred; intelligent answers would be enlightening.
Cheers.

The Gospel of Barnabas is more authentic than the NIV or KJV, meaning that human hands did not take out what they felt was un-modern Christian.

2. If the Gospel contradicts the Qur'an, then rumors that a Muslim wrote it or sneaked it into the Vatican where it was found on the Popes book shelf, are false accusations because no Muslim would write a Gospel that contradicted the Koran.

3. I strongly feel you are putting your faith too much in other peoples claims with out equally considering the other side.

4. Although the Gospel of Barnabas is contradicting to the Koran, this should make Christians want to validate it, I discovered why Christians want to discredit it so badly:

-The Gospel of Barnabas states Jesus is a Prophet of God, and not His Son-

" Jesus, having received this vision, and knowing that he was a prophet sent to the house of Israel, revealed to Mary his mother, telling her that he needs must suffer great persecution for the honor of God, and that he couldn't any longer abide with her to serve her. " ( Gospel of Barnabas Ch# 10 )

" And when he had said this, the crowed drew high, and when they knew him they began to cry out: ' Welcome to thee, O our God !' and they began to do him reverence, as unto God. Whereupon Jesus gave a great groan and said: ' Get ye from before me, O mad men, for I fear lest the earth should open and devour me with you for your abominable words !' Whereupon the people were filled with terror and began to weep. "
( Gospel of Barnabas Ch# 92 )

" Then Jesus, having lifted his hand in token of silence, said: ' Verily ye have erred greatly, O Israelites, in calling me, a man, your God. And I fear that God may for this give heavy plague upon the holy city.....I confess before heaven, ....that I an stranger to all that ye have said; seeing that I am man, born of a mortal woman, subject to the judgment of God, suffering the miseries of eating and sleeping, of cold and heat, like other men,..Whereupon when God shall come to judge, my words like a sword shall pierce each one (of them) that believe me to be more than a man, " ( Gospel of Barnabas Ch# 93 ) Gospel of Barnabas: 93

The manuscripts of the Gospel of Barnabas date again to the center a long time. The 2 manuscripts which the Gospel is written in is in Spanish and Italian. Seeing as there's no Greek or Hebrew manuscript for the Gospel, what makes you feel that there used to be a replica of the Gospel on the Council of Nicaea? If there's no manuscripts of the Gospel which date again to Jesus' time, then the Gospel loses it declare for authenticity. Proving that the four Gospels within the Bible are extra risk-free than this Gospel in view that their manuscripts are the nearest to the time of Jesus. Also the Gospel claims Joseph as Mary's husband, even as within the Quran her husband isn't stated and her handiest protector is Zechariah. Email me you probably have any additional questions. I'll learn them day after today, Sholam!

It is not one of the writings that passed all the scrutiny and tests that evidence that it was divinely inspired by all the scolars who directly inspected and disected and held up for being truly from God.
It just didn't pass! It's interesting, but the cannon of work called the Bible is 66 books that are truly all in one accord in every way tested. And we are glad there was a test so we can trust what is "written".
Ask God, "if you are real, reveal yourself and your truth to ME personally" and if you are sincere, HE WILL! He won't fulfill YOUR requirements so don't set any. He is not our servant, He is our God!!

There are thousands of books which the christian leaderships centuries ago rejected to be part of the bible. even today the catholics accept some books in their bible as canonical while the protestants reject them. the gospel of barnabas was discovered by christian scholars, authenticated by the christian scholars, published first by the christian publishing but now rejected by them.

Many christians do not believe in their bible scholars, their scholars say that the bible is full of many contadictions, additions, alterations, but the mass number of christians say the opposite.so how can we convince the many christians to believe in the gospel of barnabas if they can not even agree to believe in the books already inside their holy book?

There is no gospel of Barnabas but story ,short story about Barnabas is appearing or written on the bible..

This is the story about Barnabas:

Luk 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
Luk 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The so called “Gospel of Barnabas” is a forgery written in the 14th or 15th century.

If this writing was authentic, it would be reasonable to expect that the author would be familiar with the basic facts of Jewish life at this time. However the author of the so called “Gospel of Barnabas” did not understand the language, history or geography of 1st century Israel.

1.) Geography
In the first half of chapter 20 we find “Jesus went to the Sea of Galilee, and having embarked in a ship sailed to his city of Nazareth” and after Jesus calmed the storm “arrived at the city of Nazareth the seamen spread through the city all that Jesus had wrought”.

It would be impossible to embark a ship and sailed to the city of Nazareth. Nazareth is 25 km inland from the Sea of Galilee and more than 500m higher in altitude and situated on a ridge half way between Sea of Galilee and the Mediterranean Sea. You cannot sail a ship to city of Nazareth.

2.) Christ / Messiah
The word “Christ” is the Greek translation for the Hebrew word “Messiah”. Both these words when translated into English mean the Anointed One or the Chosen One. This word is not an obscure or rarely used word, on the contrary it is one of the most famous words in the Jewish and Christian religions. There is no doubt that if the author had been a disciple of Jesus, he would have been very familiar with this word.

However in the very opening of the book we find Jesus announced as God’s “prophet Jesus Christ”. And later in chapter 24 “Jesus confessed, and said the truth: 'I am not the Messiah.'” It is clear that the author did not understand the language spoken by Jesus and the 1st century Jews

3.) History
In chapter 3 we are told that Herod and Pilate both ruled in Judea at the time of Jesus' birth: “here reigned at that time in Judaea Herod, by decree of Caesar Augustus, and Pilate was governor.”

This is historically wrong for Herod and Pilate never ruled Judea at the same time. Herod ruled Judea alone from 37-4 B.C., while Pilate ruled thirty years later from 26-36 A.D.[3] The real Barnabas lived during the rule of Pilate, so if he really was the writer of this book, how could he make such a simple mistake?

4.) Ancient Evidence
There is absolutely no ancient evidence for the book. There is nothing to even suggest that this book even existed prior to the 14th century.

5.) Internal Evidence
The internal evidence of the book suggests it was written in the 14th or 15th century, and there are Muslim scholars who agree with this dating. The Gospel of Barnabas contains quotations from Dante Alighieri, references to an edict from Pope Boniface, and descriptions of feudalism and lots of other discrepancies. Therefore, scholars place the date of authorship around the fifteenth century.

For other anachronisms (things that show that this “gospel” was written at a much later time in history) see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_Barnabas#Anachronisms

The so called “Gospel of Barnabas” is not an authentic Gospel of Jesus. The book is a rewrite of the Biblical Gospel most likely by a Muslim around the 14th or 15th century who wanted to portray Jesus as a Muslim who taught Islam and predicted the coming of Muhammad.

(Note: It’s important that we not confuse the Gospel of Barnabas with the Epistle of Barnabas. These are two separate documents with two very different authors - the Epistle of Barnabas was written A.D. 70–90).

well at lease he know of Mohammed...peace be upon him

Jesus said: “God one hath no equal…He hath no father nor mother; he hath no sons, nor brethren, nor companions…”

Jesus said: “… I am man, born of mortal woman, subject to the judgment of God, suffering the miseries of eating and sleeping, of cold and heat, like other men. When God shall come to judge, my words like a sword shall pierce each one that believes me to be more than man.”

The priest asked Jesus: 'Art thou the Messiah of God….?’ Jesus answered: ‘…indeed I am not he…and (he) shall come after me …for God himself gave him the name …Muhammad is his blessed name”

i happen to like some of what he says and may Allah SWT be pleased with him
