Getting married abroad on a beach so we know the colours we want are; white, silver & duck egg blue...

I'm confused over where to add the colours...

I'm having a white dress, do i go for a blue tiara, blue in the flowers, blue waistcoats’ for the men, blue rose petal confetti etc etc.. I just can't visualise where to use the colours within the wedding without it looking OTT and it looking a bit silly...

Any tips or comments on how you used your colour scheme would be great!! x

Just to add the dress is white with silver detail/beading...

This is the only thing that has been brought at the moment..!

Cheers for the comments so far! x

I think the silver should be used for the men's cumberbunds or vests and neckties. It is very classy. You may be able to find these in a (subtly) patterned (almost embossed like) blue & silver design-check your local tuxedo rental store.

If your dress has silver, then your tiara should be silver, but the gemstones in it could be blue. Also, your garter could match with silver elastic instead of the traditional lace.

If you are getting married on a beach, I would assume there are some traditional items you won't be needing. But for a reception, you could use silver platters (even the fake plastic ones from partysupermarket would work) and goblets with white pearly plates and blue napkins. Use clear plasticware so you don't have too much color going on.

I would keep the blue out of the flowers because there aren't that many varieties of flowers that are naturally blue and it may be hard to find. Use white roses or flowers and use blue satin ribbon for the bouquet streamers.

You could have your invitations or announcements printed on a silvery paper with blue print.

Congrats to you. Enjoy and take lots of pictures & video! You cannot ever go back and do it again exactly the same way.

Hi! Yeahhh, weddings are a nightmare aren't they? ;-)

Personally, as you're having it on the beach, I think it might be good to keep white as the main colour, so that it doesn't look like you've sort of moved a traditional church wedding onto a beach. White is fresh and summery, and hopefully the beach will be hot!

* Flowers - Mostly white, with 1/3 blue. Possibly tied with a silver ribbon.

* Tiara - blue would be summery, so yes, go for that! Or, why not twist some blue flowers into it, to make it look more beachy?

* Wedding area - are you having a fabric runner on the sand leading up to a wedding arch? If so, I'd make this blue. Then have white flowers around the arch, with a few blue.

* Men - are they going to be dressed in traditional Top and Tails, in black? If so, I'd suggest silver for their waistcoats, then blue for the 'tissue' or flower that sticks out of the front jacket pocket.

* Confetti - I'd have silver confetti or glitter if you can find it - that would look beautiful in the sunlight. If not white, blue or a mixture of both will be fine!

* Bridesmaids - if you have any? Blue dresses would be nice. Of course, they'd then carry white flowers.

* Overall - I'd keep most things white and then have the colours in subtle arrangements as I described above.

Have fun on your wedding day - congratulations!

xx Emmie

I would suggest a silver tiara, blue wasitcoats for the men and blue and white flowers. Perhaps blue bridesmaid dresses too.

sometimes less is more, stick with blue flowers, give the men blue ties and the blue of the flowers used for their buttonholes will pick it out. put the bridesmaids in blue dresses but give them white accessories to match your dress. Silver jewellery for you and the bridesmaids would look really pretty.

use white chairs to create an aisle and use a blue aisle runner down the middle instead of using petals why not put silver sequins on the runner. Maybe blue bows on the back of the chairs.

for the reception keep with white linens and use blue napkins and candleholders to give some depth. if you want silver you can use crystals and gems to add sparkle on the napkins which will give a sea kind of effect. also if you are on a tight budget never underestimate using mirrors for centrepieces. they catch the light from every angle and give a room a feeling of more space.

I hope this helps you a bit. I got lucky one of my bridesmaids has worked in fashion for years and has been a massive help. x

i think you, as the bride, need to be all in white so i would keep the tiara silver with 'diamonds' not blue stones.
what are your girls wearing? blue? if so then the blue in the men's waistcoats would be grand. but blue flowers wouldn't show against the girl's gowns. what about your bouquet being blue and white and the girls, if they are in blue, carrying all white flowers? if the girls are in white the same as you are then the blue flowers would be very dramatic!
have the girls' tuck some blue flowers in their hair!
whatever you choose you will look beautiful! wishing you the very best.

I would just do your bouquet with that duckegg blue in your floral bouquet, plus maybe white roses and white orchids but primarily white. Blue satin ribbon tying the bouquet. For the men, the blue waistcoats are nice, but your could also do white waistcoats with blue shirts with blue striped ties. Maid of Honor could have a beautiful chiffon duckegg blue dress with flower bouquet that have that blue and white in it. Tables can have floral arrangements with the blue and white and have them in silver urns.

No blue tiara, just a georgeous white crystal and pearl tiara. Just use the blue in your accessories. Good Luck

I would go for silver tiara with blue diamantes

White roses in a hand tied bouguet with blue seagrass tying around it or just white if you,re having a trailing bouguet and your bridesmaids have the handties

Silver waistcoats with blue cravats

Blue and white rose petal confetti

White seat covers with blue bows tying around the back

If you,re having bridesmaids Id go for duck egg blue dresses and if you,re having little bridesmaids, white dresses with duck egg blue ribbon around the middle

I,d have a blue cake tho with white icing to be different

But its all your preferance.
I loved all the planning for mine.I had gold and ivory.
Good luck,I hope my ideas might have helped you a bit x

We had pink, lilac, yellow and teal as our colours. The bridesmaids' dresses had a white background, with tiny flowers in those colours, like watercolour painting, so it was fun to use those colours. Each girl had her own colour - so for example one girl had a pink wreath of flowers on her head, had pink ribbons on her bouquet - then her groomsman matched her by having a pink bowtie and cummerbund. We did that for each of the colours.
For you, go for a silver/? tiara. Are the girls having blue dresses? That will determine what colour flowers you will get, too. It will be nice if the guys are accessorized in blue. I would say to use the silver very sparingly.

Go for the blue tiara! that would look great! I think stick to either just the flowers to match or just the clothing and confetti because if you have all of it then it's a bit too much. I would say that the waistcoats and confetti would be nice and maybe light pink colour flowers. For the rest just keep to other colours maybe add a little extra detail with blue but not too much. Congratulations!
