Dining Out
➔ Fast Food
To everyone who uses the excuse that it's fast: If you spend just 2-3 hours once a week (actually that is not a long time if you consider the amount fo time people take to wait in lines, watch TV, wait in traffic blah bla blah) to cook and/or prepare food for the rest of the week, then you would have teh fastest food possible. Just enough time to 1. take it out of teh fridge and 2. heat it up if necessary (you can even use a 7-11 microwave if you are on the road.) In that 3 hours, it is possible to make various food items so you have variety too. and all in all it is cheaper to do this too (it can be if you have the right plan for yourself).
so, that is one crappy excuse.

I eat fast food about 3 times a week. I used to like eating at fast food restaurants but after time and time again, I've gotten really bored with the same thing and now i try to cook my own meals. Sometimes.

Because there are situations when:
1. My wife has been driving from one appointment to another all day.
2. 3 or 4 of my kids have practice or scouts.
3. We haven't made a trip to the market recently.
4. I had to work late.
5. The house is a wreck and we don't feel like cooking.
6. I don't have 100 bucks to drop down at a sit down restaurant.
7. I don't have the time to go to a sit down restaurant.
8. None of the local cuisines appeal to me.
9. It's the closest option.
10. I have a desire to eat one big fat pill.
I'll admit that we shouldn't go there (mainly for our own health), and we have made efforts to reduce the number of trips, but they are always an option.

9. Says who?
10. Time is of the essence....
I do work in the fastfood industry. We take every precausion to make sure every sandwich is made with the highest quality products. Our food isn't the healthiest but it's no secret. Every resturant you eat at has a high fat content in their food thats what makes it taste good. People eat fastfood cuz thats what it is FAST FOOD. People don't have alot of time to cook a healthy meal we live in a time where we spend more time in our cars that at home. We have become a fast society where multitasking is second nature. Especially with summer around the corner. Just a thought and just my opinion......

It's cheap compared to sitdwom restaurants and if you are cooking for one, it can be cost effective compared to wasted food or having to eat multiple portions of something you are tired of. I get fatter if I don't eat out and eating at places that take coupons leaves me money to eat at the Nice Indian Restaurant where the chef is a licensed Nutritionist once in a while.

I try to avoid fast food, but sometimes it is really convenient when I'm in a hurry or don't feel like cooking anything. Plus, it's cheap, a lot cheaper than a sit-down restaurant (especially as you don't have to tip for fast food).

Most people frequent a fast-food restaurant because of all the reasons given.
Mainly because they know what the can expect from such a food outlet, standard meal, standard service and standard pricing without the frills.
Fast food restaurants come between hawkers and fine-dining, more or less equivalent to food-courts.

Although I know it is not healty food, at least it is safe to eat. I would not recommend to take every day but once a while will not hurt as long as you know how much you are taking in.

Basically its fast...taste relatively good to the average american consumer...and it affordable for most people's wallets. It may not be healthy...and it may not be quality. But it is easy...and that my friend is what America is all about!
