I always thought it was because there were so many Jews living in the US and I would be interested to know how many are in positions of influence.

Because Israel mostly keeps the conflict concentrated in the Middle East. You see what can happen when they brake out.

Because they share the same upbring. Israel is mostly comprised of European Jews and their descents. European Jews and their descents pulls the strings in Washington. They are embedded in the U.S. Government.

They are basically supporting their own kind.

good question, israel is the watch dog over the middle east , and for those who say israel deserve a place to live why don't you give them a part of your country if you love them so much.

For US Christians, some of it is God's promise to Abraham, "I will bless those who bless you; I will curse those who curse you."

Another reason is that Israel for many years was/is the only stable democracy in the Middle East while the Arab governments around it were ruled by despotic tyrants who sought to destroy the Jewish nation.

Yet another reason is that the US has more Jewish people than live in Israel and they feel a kinship with those in the Holy land.

Two reasons, first, the US almost singlehandedly created Isreal the country after WWII. Second, there are more than a few powerful Jews running things in the US.

I can't speak for the politics of the U.S. I support Israel because the Jews are God's chosen people.
