They were not praying five times a day.....they were idol worshipper.....actualy they were pagans, they believed in one God but were worshipping other things like fire, stones, trees, sun, moon etc as a way to the one true God ....and this was actauly the left over beleives from Abraham religion i.e believing in some supreme power but they started worshipping idols too with that !.......Muhammad(pbuh)came to correct that and told them that they don't need any intermediats and there is Only One God and don't worship Idol with him !and about ka'bah so it is just a direction for the unity of all the muslims.....muslims don't worship it actualy.it is just to turn their face towards same direction !

First of all let me clear some thing, not only Arabs, but the Muslims all over the world, pray five times a day, facing towards holy Ka'aba.
Before Muhammad's PBUH teachings, the Pagans of Arab use to worship 360 idles placed inside Ka'aba (one for each day of a year) and revolve around it males and females together, completely naked.
Muslims don't worship holy Ka'aba, it is just a direction to face towards it to offer our prayers to almighty Allah.
Islam demolished and washed out all Idles and statues in Ka'aba and made it the symbol of the unity of Muslim's concentration and focal point for prayers all around the planet. All mosques of the world face towards it. This is the basic feature of Islamic Architecture.

No they didn't. They prayed to the many idols placed there. But the Ka'abah does have a long history of worship. In the Muslim perspective prophets like Adam and Abraham were there anyway.

Just for your ignorance: The black thing in Macca is called Ka'ba and the Muslim pray in the same way even Jesus (PBUH) prayed and the city Macca is the geographic center of land on earth and that's no coincidence, and it's also names Bakka and that's written in the Bible too.

the black thing that u called is Kaabah. it was built by a prophet and his son which is a prophet too (i kinda forgot their name). but after they died, their teaching was slowly changed and mixed with native and other believes that was brought by traveler who passed by Makkah. The travelers also bring their statues which they pray to them and put them around Kaabah. Prophet Muhammad came and clear the statues from Kaabah and bring back the original religion of Islam and completed it before he died when he's 63.

That is what they believe. This is how we pray as Christians. as taught by Jesus:

Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Mohammad threw out all of the false idols except for one false idle. So they only worship that one now.

probably the same thing that some pagans did when they celebrated Eostre with rabbits and eggs, and Saturnaria by decorating trees.

I mean, between that, and celebrating easter with rabbits and eggs, and Christmas by ... erm, decorating trees, ;-)
