It's just a secured credit card, plain and simple. You deposit money with them and get a credit card with a limit tied to the amount of the deposit. Deposit $1,000 and you get a $1,000 credit limit.

The costs of this card are insanely high. They have a $59.00 annual fee and charge 19.5% interest on any balance outstanding. On top of that, there is a whopping $149.95 application fee! See here for the full details: http://www.nmbdiamondcards.com/rates.html

You can get a secured credit card from any local bank or credit union with MUCH better terms. Typically there won't be ANY annual fee or application fee and the interest rate will be half of what this rip-off card charges.

Secured cards are a zero-risk proposition for the issuing bank since they're holding your money as security for payment of the bills. They're great for folks just starting out or for those who have bad credit and want to start rebuilding their credit profile. Since the bank is taking no risk by issuing one, the fees should reflect that zero risk. The Black Diamond Card doesn't do that. Avoid it!

Black Diamond Credit Card

Yes they are legit - unfortunately

It's with a supersubprime lender that will sock you with high non refundable fees. They will probably give you a credit limit of around $300 and their fees will eat up pretty much every bit of that credit limit.
They will "never" waive or reduce the fees no matter how long you have the account.

You would be better off going to your own bank or credit union or another lender (BofA, Orchard, HSBC, etc) and getting a secured card if you currently have not so good or fairly good but limited credit.

edit
I should have just waited until Bostonian answered and simply said I agreed with him - since I do lol.

Hi!
Sadly..if you have bad credit..you're *NOT* going to be able to even open a account at a local credit Union..much less get a secured card from them.

There are decent secured cards for bad credit folks..real secured cards available from the likes of:

Wells Fargo
US Bank
Orchard Card (HSBC bank)
Bank Of America

and many others. Please...shop around..don't get one of these fee-insane cards.

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/rrBi9

Their promise to contact you doesn't mean anything. Not even that they will actually contact you. You might try to improve your credit rating by paying off existing credit accounts or increasing your income.
