If you think that marriage is only for sexual favors you may think so. But then imagine the cost of gold ring + the mental stress you come accross through out life, the alimony you have to pay if you want to depart, the social stigma you get attached after divorce and then the frustration of a lonely life at the old age. I think the subject needs to be looked at with more positive angle and more broader spectrum.

Christina that is Right!! A ring should have nothing to do with the Love and respect a couple have for one another...My Husband and I have been married for some time and I don't have a ring. I don't mind because we Love each other for us...not for our material possesions. Neither of us put great importance on money or material things...
We live our lives freely out of the hold of material things...We hold strong to our faith in God and our Love for each other...That is what pulls us through in the tough times...
Not the possesions that we own. I would gladly give up everything I do have and live in the street under a box with my husband if need be, mainly because of my Love and respect for him and secondly because of my faith in God...That is all we need in life...

No, it is not. "Proper" payment for a lifetime of sexual favors to one person is love, support, kindness, patience, honor, loyalty, and giving the best of yourself in return. A few "sparklies" sure don't hurt, though.

Feel free to tell Comedy Central, "Ask a stupid question . . . ."

if a new tv and a new car in the garage is reward for a lifetime of slavery to capitalism, then why not

p.s. didn't you know all the good sex was over when the ring is put on? just joking

Oh, congratulations! No, I'm alright, I always cry at weddings...not my own, though, which I thought was a good sign.

May you two share many hours of YA bliss!!

No. She gets the house, the cars, your pension, checking and saving, etc. ... and the gold in your teeth too. Aren't you glad I'm not your wife!

Depends... how big is the gold ring....

Is it for your eternal faithfulness?

Some love wouldn't go astray. You wouldn't need any gold ring if you had that.

this ring is just a symbol......if you consider marriage as sexual activity only then stay single
