ph balance is a measure of how acidic or alkaline your blood is. Usually the results will turn out as a number result not a neg or positive... now a BLOOD TYPE will giv you a positive or neg... as in th Rh factor. Its an antigen than gives blood types that + like A, A+ , B B+ AB, AB+ and so on. It simply means you can only be matched with a specific blood type...I can go into explaing that as well but this would tend to be a long answer... I am sure you want a brief answer I bet it was positive for the Rh factor.

Are you sure it doesn't say Rh positive?

Rh positive and Rh negative are a sort of blood group. It tells doctors what sort of blood to give you if you need a blood transfusion.

There is a way to measure blood pH, but it would give you a number rather than a positive/negative result. pH is a measure of how acidic or alkaline your blood is. This could be important in certain clinical conditions.

Perhaps you could elaborate - like tell us why you had the blood test and what your doctor was looking for.

I think you probably mean Rh positive rather than ph positive.
Rh is resus antibody and it is a type of antibody on the surface of red blood cells. If you are positive, then you have the antibodies, if you are negative you don't.

If you mean ph - then pH is the acidity of the blood, and would be measured in units between 1 & 14 (normal is around 7.4). It is not measured in 'positive' or 'negative'

"ph" refers to the acidity level of a substance; I think you have it confused with "Rh"; in Caucasians, aside from the blood type, people have to deal with Rh positive or negative; this is because there is an additional substance in Causcasian blood that is similar to that of the Rhesus Monkey; the "Rh" factor has a very large influence/impact on the children of Caucasians who are not "Rh" compatible - there will be congenital disorders and deformities;

Nothing, unless you can tell us exactly what blood test it was.
