As an Orthodox Jew I do believe that homosexual relations, in particular male anal sex, is a bibical violation (sin).

But at the same time I realize that I have no right to enforce my own personal moral and ethical code on others, particularly when it dose not affect me.

As such while I do not condone homosexuality I respect the rights of others to do as they wish as long as it dose not infringe on my own rights. Even if that would include such things as gay marriage.

dose any one else feel the same way?
if not tell me what you think of my own views.

I agree with you. I am a Christian. I think the homosexuality is a sin but I am not against civil unions. I think Marriage should be restricted as a religious institution but I have no problem with the government recognizing unions of gay couples.

Civil unions could also be used in other scenarios. For example, a single mother who moves in with a single friend (male or female) could obtain a civil union with that person so they could be responsible for the children if something were to happen to the mother.

I believe the same way.

Although I have not yet made the jump in logic as to how a marriage can be consummated when the specific act of this particular consummation is against the law...

I do believe that it is their right to get married and live a married life.
