Starving children in Darfur?
The AIDS epidemic in Africa?
The thousands of people without homes right here in America?
The threat of Global Warming?
...or two people who love each other who just happen to both be the same gender, wanting to get married and raise a family?
Why is the last on the list treated like the end of the world, while the first four are largely ignored?

Apostle Jeff, you think we can't do anything about hunger or disease or the homeless? what a sad world you must live in. And by the way, your tidbit about where AIDS comes from is so off the mark it is kinda funny.

beta_fishy, maybe because I care about the fact that gay people are denied the same rights as straights? And if you're trying to fluster me by insinuating that I'm gay, it won't work.

Which is worse?
Starving children in Darfur?
I'm sure that those children think it's pretty bad. I suppose someone should see them crying from hunger.
"The AIDS epidemic in Africa?"
There is nothing worse in that scene than this: It is told to those men who are affected by AIDS that if they have sex with a number of virgin girls, they will be rid of AIDS. Those girls that they can get to are then raped by those men who have AIDS. You can imagine the fight that the girls and thier families put up. This is common knowledge by the Christian Missionaries that come back from Africa.
"The thousands of people without homes right here in America?"
I would say that is bad, but all of the homeless that I talked to in the San Francisco area chose to be where they are. They commonly stated that they didn't want the responsibilities of daily life.
"The threat of Global Warming?"
No. What's bad about that is that people have started to fear Global Warming more than they fear God. I figure that it's a matter of time before God reacts to that. There would be things happening like ice over 2" thick in fountains, and air temperatures reaching 22 degrees farenheit in southern California coastal areas . . . oops! That happened just two months ago!
"...or two people who love each other who just happen to both be the same gender, wanting to get married and raise a family?"
Was there a catch?
"Why is the last on the list treated like the end of the world, while the first four are largely ignored?"
It's not just a Christian thing, the Muslims would put them to death!

gay people sure in hell isn't the worst. for one their is also genocide going on in Darfur. Aids in AFRICA is terrible as well but guess what? people don't care about black people.. not even black people. yea it's sad. some do but all people do is talk about it. if you don't have a home in America it's probably because your lazy as hell and gave up easily. and the threat of global warming to me is the same as saying that the world is flat...no one cares about you being gay. when black people were slaves did they just sit and ***** about it? NO! ain't like gay's can't vote or sit in the front of the bus. when you really have some injustices let me know. quit bitching and quit looking for sympathy!! as you can see there are more things going on in this world

I'd say homeless in america should take top priority, it's the easiest one to fix, followed closely by the starving children, then the aids epidemic, and hopefully by then we'll just let two consenting adults do whatever they want as long as they aren't hurting anybody

Personally, I think the AIDS epidemic in Africa deserves the most attention right now with the starving children running a close second.

The fifth choice plus using unfertilized blastocysts to give the best hope of eliminating pointless suffering.
Christians have a lot of problems identifying problems!
Honestly I think blind and willful ignorance is perhaps the biggest problem, which prevents real problems being addressed and diverts attention to issues that are more of a issue to be celebrated than attacked.

Really? It's treated like the end of the world? Where in Dubai? Saudi Arabia? I have plenty of gay friends who have no problem showing affection in public, and rarely get any grief for it whatsoever, much less all the pap you hear about Global Warming 24-7.
Times are changing. If it's bad where you are, move somewhere where people are more tolerant.

What is worse? The fact that we try to rate the significance of suffering in the World, or the fact that although you pose an intelligent and important question it will remain a question and not much thereafter?

well, let's all ignore the global warming/climate change and keep living like out of control animals, consuming too much crap, and when the earth is filled with floods, massive starvation from famine and drought, tsunamis, earthquakes, etc, then we'll see if the other items on your list really matter

Personally I think the worst thing is the intolerance of stupid people. Plus the first four things you mentioned =).
Edit: And if aids is caused by two men sleeping together, how come people of both hetero and homosexuality have aids? Sheesh, people.
