Hi in the UK if its been a very long time since you had any problem with your asthma they will let you join but if its not been a long time since you had any problems then I am sorry they will not let you join.

Most minor issues can be waivered. Especially with recruitment down like it is. All branches of the service are having a time trying to get and maintain people. As for as the asvab, most people will pass it with decent levels. your age and life experience will work in your favor. It is actually designed for juniors and seniors in high school. I was 20 when I took it.
just be honest about your illness up front If not it could come back and bite you in the butt two months into basic training. That would suck to get that far and get bounced out after that much crap.
As a Navy vet, I commend your choice of service. Good luck.

if it is as minor as you say, get a sign waiver from the doctor the treated that says you are cured, there is not an issue. if it is not treated you are not allowed to join. asvab you need to score a 50 or higher. if you don't think you will pass go for the army it is only a 36 to pass.

BECAUSE OF THIS PRIOR CONDITION YOU'RE PROBABLY GOING TO GET 4F STATUS, AND BE MEDICALLY EXCLUDED FROM SERVICE.
