my boyfriend and I are arguing. I refuse to believe it's not like the movies and they pop out and pop back in instantaneously.

Hit the release, clip drops. Slot in new clip, hit the slide release, good to go. 2-3 seconds?

A practiced competitor can fire the last shot out of his gun, push the magazine release allowing the spent magazine slide out, while pulling a new magazine from its pouch, insert the magazine, release the slide (loading a round in the chamber), and fire the weapon in about 1.5 seconds. I've watched Grand Master shooters release the magazine and have a new one inserted before the spent magazine hit the ground.
These competitors do practice this move to shave time off the score.
An average person, assuming they know how to use the gun, would probably take about three seconds to reload the gun.

All semi automatic handguns pretty much load the same way and just about as fast.

If you have a second clip loaded and ready to go it takes seconds, to actually load the clip can take several minutes as the bullets are slippery and as it gets full, it is harder to cram them in. Since your questions does state that it is an alternate clip, then yes, it is just a matter of seconds, you pop out the old one and lock in the new one... ready to go. This has NOthing to do with hunting....Glocks are never used in hunting and are primarily a weapon to kill humans or protect a person from a wildlife attack... but in light of today's news... I would be sure that everyone is sane... around guns.

There is a little lever on the weapon that releases the clip, you pop out the empty clip and insert a new clip. Approximately 1-2 seconds, depending on adrenaline. The shooter at Virginia Tech was described as cold and unemotional. He also was described as wearing an ammunition belt. He would have been able to keep up a steady stream of fire.

With practice, about 2 seconds. Hold the loaded magazine in your left ('weak') hand, drop the empty magazine with your right ('strong') hand and slam the loaded mag into place. Policemen at the range do this all the time as part of their yearly qualifications when shooting timed courses.

I have 3 clips for my gun, I fire it 15 times, flip the lever and the now empty clip falls out. with a flick of my wrist I snap a new one in, crank the action back 1 time and I'm ready to rock again. Just like the movies, only mine shoots real bullets.

2 sec, drop one on the ground if you don't care and pop one in. it's part of quick draw lore to be able to reload fast, even old revolvers you'd want to do it under 10 seconds.

With enough practice, you'll be inhuman. This guy is even faster to the point they slowed down the camera to prove it isn't fake....

Any questions?
