how long does it take for an autopsy report to come back?

my sister passed away 2 weeks ago, mysteriously. the police said it was an accidental over dose of perscription drugs, hydrocodone,xanax

based on this link, 5-8 weeks. Look under "for families and go all the way to the bottom.

The actual autopsy takes usually 2-3 hours. A findings report needs to be done usually within a week of the death certificate being signed. The reason it could have taken that amount of time though is the toxicology report, they always take a while.
