I am not sure about Catholic church, I have as a catholic been welcome in orthodox church, ask your priest, it would not be acceptable to violate your church tradition or stroll into another denominations church and take communion without permission ....I do know you should not take communion in a protestant church...being allowed to take communion is the key point here, most other answers on here are misinformed , did you know our religions are near to being reunited? catholic and orthodox after over a thousand years...peace be with you.

I am Orthodox. Unless it is a wedding or funeral or specific occassion that takes me into another church then I have no need to be there. If I do have to go to another church for such an event then I get a blessing from my Priest first. This I believe is the correct process for an Orthodox Christian. Your own Priest will let you know how you should pray in that environment. As Orthodox Christians we do not hold hands while we pray. We stand and face an Icon Corner or the East.
Hands by our side. This is they way we have prayed for all of Christian History.
There is a right way and a wrong way to pray. The prayer of the heart is a different thing again. So it is important to speak to your Priest as some non-Orthodox Churches do hold hands to pray (this has come into these churches often unknowingly - via the New Age Movement. Until about 100 years ago only sorcerers held hands to pray.It simply is not a traditional Christian Practice. It certainly is not an Orthodox one)

Though we may have different traditions, we are all united by the common believe that Christ died for our sins.
Hence if this is your perspective on your faith, you can go to any catholic or protestant church to pray cause we are all brothers and sisters within the family of God. =)

You can pray anywhere you want. The church temple is a place to worship. And its for anyone, sinners and saints. God bless you.

Yes. You can not receive communion, however. Not because you would not be welcome to do so, but your church would not want you to.
